Acute pancreatitis (AP), induced by tetracycline, a widely used antibiotic, poses significant clinical and toxicological challenges, yet its molecular mechanisms remain unclear. This study aims to promote drug toxicology strategies for the effective investigation of the putative toxicity and potential molecular mechanisms of antibiotic drugs through the study of tetracycline in AP. Using the SwissTargetPrediction, SEA Search, Super-PRED, GeneCards, Drugbank, Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man (OMIM), and Therapeutic Target Database (TTD), we identified 259 potential targets associated with tetracycline exposure and AP.

The oral-gut axis is a complex system linking the oral cavity and gastrointestinal tract, impacting host health and microbial composition. This study investigates genetic changes and adaptive mechanisms employed by streptococci-one of the few genera capable of colonizing oral and intestinal niches-within the same individual. We conducted whole-genome sequencing (WGS) on 218 streptococcal isolates from saliva and fecal samples of 14 inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patients and 12 healthy controls.

Sprayable hydrogels have emerged as a transformative innovation in biomedical technology, offering a versatile, efficient, and minimally invasive platform for various clinical applications. They form gels upon tissue contact, enabling seamless application on even complex surfaces. This property is especially useful in wound care, drug delivery, and tissue engineering, where localized and sustained release of therapeutics is essential.

Terasi, a traditional Indonesian seafood product made from shrimp, undergoes fermentation facilitated by a consortium of microorganisms, including Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) and yeast, which contribute to its distinctive umami flavor. This study investigates the microbial dynamics and production of key metabolites, including γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA), during terasi fermentation. Total Plate Count (TPC) and High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) were used to monitor changes in glutamate and GABA levels, with glutamate increasing from 105.
