Anode materials based on metal oxychlorides hold promise in addressing electrode dissolution challenges in aqueous-based chloride ion batteries (CIBs). However, their structural instability following chloride ion deintercalation can lead to rapid degradation and capacity fading. This paper investigates a cobalt-doped SbOCl-graphene (Co-SbOCl@GO) composite anode for aqueous-based CIBs. It exhibits significantly enhanced discharge capacity of 82.3 mAh g after 200 cycles at 0.3 A g; while, the undoped comparison is only 23.5 mAh g in the same condition. It also demonstrated with a long-term capacity retention of 72.8 % after 1000 cycles (65.5 mAh g) and a favorable rate performance of 25 mAh g at a high current density of 2 A g. Undertaken comprehensive studies via in-situ experiments and DFT calculations, the cobalt (Co) dopant is demonstrated as the crucial role to enhance the lifetime of SbOCl-based anodes. It is found that, the Co dopant improves electronic conductivity and the diffusion of chloride ions beside increases the structural stability of SbOCl crystal. Thus, this element doping strategy holds promise for advancing the field of SbOCl-based anodes for aqueous-based CIBs, and insights gain from this study also offer valuable knowledge to develop high-performance electrode materials for electrochemical deionization.

Meteoritic impacts on planetary surfaces deliver a significant amount of energy that can produce prebiotic organic compounds such as cyanides, which may be a key step to the formation of biomolecules. To study the chemical processes of impact-induced organic synthesis, we simulated the physicochemical processes of hypervelocity impacts (HVI) in experiments with both high-speed C projectiles and laser ablation. In the first approach, a C beam was accelerated to collide with ammonium nitrate (NHNO) to reproduce the shock process and plume generation of meteoritic impacts on nitrogen-rich planetary surfaces.

Improving crop salinity management requires enhanced understanding of salinity responses of leaf and fine-root traits governing resource acquisition, ideally in relation to ion accumulation at intra- or inter-specific levels. We hypothesized that these responses are coupled towards integrated resource conservation for plants under prolonged salt treatment. We tested the hypothesis with a glasshouse experiment on saplings of six contrasting hybrids, subjected to either control or salt treatment (reverse osmosis water versus 3.

Erythritol is a beneficial sugar alcohol that can be used as a sugar substitute for diabetic patients. Erythritol is a bioproduct produced by microorganisms as a response to high osmotic pressure and stress in the growth medium. High concentrations of carbon source substrate can increase the osmotic pressure and provide more nutrient supply for yeast growth and metabolism.

With the development of cities, the issue of excess nitrate in wastewater has become increasingly severe. Electrochemical technology has garnered significant attention due to its straightforward operation and environmental sustainability. A CoO/GF cathode was successfully prepared by depositing CoO onto Graphite felt (GF) using an electrochemical deposition-calcination method.
