Spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion (IR) injury (SCII) can cause major autonomic, sensory, and motor damage and loss. The upregulation of Nrf2, a primary orchestrator of the oxidative stress response, has beneficial effects in SCII. Here, we aimed to uncover a SCII-related transcription factor that is able to elevate Nrf2 expression.

Nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain (NOD)-like receptor protein 3 (NLRP3) is a cytosolic pattern recognition receptor that recognizes multiple pathogen-associated molecular patterns and damage-associated molecular patterns. It is a cytoplasmic immune factor that responds to cellular stress signals, and it is usually activated after infection or inflammation, forming an NLRP3 inflammasome to protect the body. Aberrant NLRP3 inflammasome activation is reportedly associated with some inflammatory diseases and metabolic diseases.

Introduction: Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PPCI) often experience the no-reflow phenomenon (NRP), characterized by reduced myocardial perfusion despite an open coronary artery. Adenosine, a potent vasodilator, is used to aid reperfusion. To elucidate underlying molecular mechanism of this phenomenon, we investigated expression of ADORA2A and ADORA2B genes, encoding adenosine receptors, in ACS patients with NRP and non-NRP.

Background: Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) remains a significant cause of global mortality, exacerbated by ischemia-reperfusion (IR) injury. Myocardial cell pyroptosis has emerged as a critical pathway influencing IR injury severity.
Methods: We aimed to investigate the cardioprotective effects of aerobic exercise on IR injury by examining the modulation of IGFBP2 and its impact on GSDME-dependent myocardial cell pyroptosis.

Skin flap transplantation is a primary method for wound repair; however, postoperative skin flap necrosis remains a significant challenge. Kaempferol, a flavonol abundant in various foods, exhibits diverse pharmacological effects. This study investigated the potential targets of kaempferol for treating skin flap ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury through network pharmacology and molecular docking, followed by in vivo validation.
