AI Article Synopsis

  • Nuclear Pore Complexes (NPCs) are key structures in the nuclear envelope that regulate molecule transport and assist in chromatin organization during plant cell division, specifically in meiosis.
  • Mutations in specific genes (SAR1 and SAR3) related to NPCs in Arabidopsis lead to meiotic defects, including chromosome fragmentation and condensation issues, particularly in double mutants.
  • This research highlights the potential role of nucleoporins in meiosis and suggests a connection with other cellular pathways, offering new insights into meiotic chromosome behavior in plants.

Article Abstract

Nuclear Pore Complexes (NPCs) are embedded in the nuclear envelope (NE), regulating macromolecule transport and physically interacting with chromatin. The NE undergoes dramatic breakdown and reformation during plant cell division. In addition, this structure has a specific meiotic function, anchoring and positioning telomeres to facilitate the pairing of homologous chromosomes. To elucidate a possible function of the structural components of the NPCs in meiosis, we have characterized several Arabidopsis lines with mutations in genes encoding nucleoporins belonging to the outer ring complex. Plants defective for either SUPPRESSOR OF AUXIN RESISTANCE1 (SAR1, also called NUP160) or SAR3 (NUP96) present condensation abnormalities and SPO11-dependent chromosome fragmentation in a fraction of meiocytes, which is increased in the double mutant . We also observed these meiotic defects in mutants deficient in the outer ring complex protein HOS1, but not in mutants affected in other components of this complex. Furthermore, our findings may suggest defects in the structure of NPCs in and a potential link between the meiotic role of this nucleoporin and a component of the RUBylation pathway. These results provide the first insights in plants into the role of nucleoporins in meiotic chromosome behavior.

Since the rings of the angular contact ball bearings (ACBBs) are typical highly sensitive quenching thin-walled structure, the microstructure and properties variation of the rings during the heat treatment process are often difficult to be controlled precisely, and then the service life of the bearings is reduced. Therefore, in this study, the combination of the numerical simulation and experimental was carried out during the quenching and tempering process of ACBBs (7008C), the phase transformation of the inner and outer ring during the heat treatment process were explored, and the law of the microstructure evolution and the mechanical properties variation were revealed. Firstly, based on the multi-field coupling theory of temperature, microstructure and stress-strain field, the numerical simulation model of the heat treatment process of the bearing rings was established.

Background: Internal ocular diseases, such as macular edema, uveitis, and diabetic macular edema require precise delivery of therapeutic agents to specific regions within the eye. However, the eye's complex anatomical structure and physiological barriers present significant challenges to drug penetration and distribution. Traditional eye drops suffer from low bioavailability primarily due to rapid clearance mechanisms.

Background And Objective: TRIV is a new and promising technique based on the fact that Vulva can be divided into three circular zones based on anatomy, embryology, and histology- Outer, Middle, and Inner ring. The Vulvoscopy Index and N-S-P scheme are objective tools to improve the systematization of vulvoscopy findings and to simplify information management using TRIV.

Methods: Hundred women with vulvar complaints (Cases) and 100 asymptomatic women (Controls) underwent TRIV and findings were documented as per N-S-P Scheme and Vulvoscopy Index.

We have calculated the magnetically induced current density (MICD) susceptibility at the all-electron density functional theory level for a series of coronoid molecules of increasing size and compared the MICD susceptibilities with those calculated using the pseudo-π (PP) model. The molecules sustain global diatropic magnetically induced ring currents (MIRCs), whereas paratropic MICD vortices mainly appear inside the benzene rings. The computationally cheaper PP calculations were also employed on circum[]coronene molecules showing that the MICD pattern continues to alternate for odd and even when increasing the size of the molecule.
