Background: Thromboembolic events are a common cause of morbidity and mortality in patients with cancer. While direct-acting oral anticoagulants (DOACs) have been established as the preferred agents of anticoagulation in most patients with cancer, data in resource-limited settings is limited.
Aims: The study aims to assess the comparative efficacy and safety of warfarin and rivaroxaban for cancer-associated thrombosis (CAT) in a resource-limited setting.
Optimal dosing of VTE prophylaxis for specific patient populations remains an area of concern as insufficient evidence exists regarding dosing for underweight patients. The purpose of this study is to compare the incidence of major bleeding events in underweight patients given different prophylactic doses of enoxaparin. This is a retrospective analysis performed at multiple hospitals within a single health care system.

Background: Central venous catheters (CVCs) are used in pediatric patients to deliver IV fluids, blood products, medications, and nutrients. Potential complications include central line infection, which carries a high risk of morbidity and mortality in this population. Pediatric critical care nurses play a crucial role in helping to reduce the risk of infection.

This study aims to assess the clinical efficacy and feasibility of the Perclose ProGlide Suture-Mediated Closure System (Abbott Vascular, Redwood City, CA, USA) for transbrachial access. A total of 100 patients from July 2020 to December 2023 were included in this retrospective study. Among them, 40 patients underwent ProGlide-guided suture closure following brachial artery (BA) puncture, while 60 patients received traditional manual compression.

Background: Recent guidelines recommend prolonged thromboprophylaxis after oesophagectomy due to cancer. However, no previous studies have examined if prolonged prophylaxis is superior to standard, in-hospital prophylaxis. We aimed to perform the first clinical, randomised study testing the efficacy of a prolonged, one-month thromboprophylaxis with low molecular weight heparin versus the standard treatment.
