Background: Adipokines, bioactive peptides secreted by adipose tissue, appear to contribute to breast cancer development and progression. While numerous studies suggest their role in promoting tumor growth, the exact mechanisms of their involvement are not yet completely understood.
Methods: In this project, varying concentrations of recombinant human adipokines (Leptin, Lipocalin-2, PAI-1, and Resistin) were used to study their effects on four selected breast cancer cell lines (EVSA-T, MCF-7, MDA-MB-231, and SK-Br-3).

Introduction: Chronic fetal hypoxia is commonly associated with fetal growth restriction and can predispose to respiratory disease at birth and in later life. Antenatal antioxidant treatment has been investigated to overcome the effects of oxidative stress to improve respiratory outcomes. We aimed to determine if the effects of chronic fetal hypoxia and antenatal antioxidant administration persist in the lung in early adulthood.

These viruses can reassort, creating new strains with varying pathogenicity and cross-species transmissibility. Background: Insulin resistance is tightly related to cognition; however, the causal association between them remains a matter of debate. Our investigation aims to establish the causal relationship and direction between insulin resistance and cognition, while also quantifying the mediating role of brain cortical structure in this association.
Methods: The publicly available data sources for insulin resistance (fasting insulin, homeostasis model assessment beta-cell function and homeostasis model assessment insulin resistance, proinsulin), brain cortical structure, and cognitive phenotypes (visual memory, reaction time) were obtained from the MAGIC, ENIGMA, and UK Biobank datasets, respectively.
