Purpose: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common chronic cardiac arrhythmia that increases the risk of stroke, primarily due to thrombus formation in the left atrial appendage (LAA). Left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) devices offer an alternative to oral anticoagulation for stroke prevention. However, the complex and variable anatomy of the LAA presents significant challenges to device design and deployment.

Multi-axis contouring control is crucial for ultraprecision manufacturing industries, contributing to meeting the ever-increasingly stringent performance requirements. In this article, a novel contouring adaptive real-time iterative compensation (CARIC) method is proposed to achieve extreme multi-axis contouring accuracy, remarkable trajectory generalization, disturbance rejection, and parametric adaptation simultaneously. Specifically, control actions generated by CARIC consist of robust feedback, adaptive feedforward, and online trajectory compensation components.

Deep brain stimulation (DBS) for essential tremor is remarkably effective, leading to over 80% reduction in standardized tremor ratings. However, for certain types of tremor, such as those accompanied by ataxia or dystonia, conventional DBS targets have shown poor efficacy. Various rationales for using cerebellar DBS stimulation to treat tremor have been advanced, but the varied approaches leave many questions unanswered: which anatomic target, stimulation settings, and indications seem most promising for this emerging approach.

Background: Evolving evidence suggests that patients undergoing treatment with Janus kinase inhibitors (JAKi) may face an increased risk of cardiovascular events, malignancies, and serious infections.
Objectives: We assessed cardiovascular, malignancy, and serious infection risks associated with JAKi use compared to tumor necrosis factor inhibitor (TNFi) use, which served as the active comparator, in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) or ulcerative colitis (UC).
Methods: This study emulated a target trial using South Korea's nationwide claims database (2013-2023).
Background: There is a well-established relationship between liver conditions and cardiovascular diseases. However, uncertainty persists regarding the contribution of liver fibrosis to major stroke types including ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, and subarachnoid hemorrhage at the population level.
Methods: In this large prospective cohort study, participants without previous stroke or coronary heart disease at baseline from the UK Biobank were included.
