This research examined the impacts of ultrasound, UV light, storage time, and temperature on the leaching of bisphenol A (BPA) from polyethylene terephthalate (PET) drinking water bottles in Turkey. The initial phase of the investigation encompassed the quantification of BPA in two distinct brands of bottled water. Samples were extracted by solid- phase extraction (SPE) and analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection (HPLC-FLD). According to the results in the first part, the highest BPA levels were found in bottled water. In the second part of the study, 10 to 30 min of ultrasound treatment increased the BPA migration with increased time in simulants. Highly migratory pelagic sharks have the potential to serve as carriers of particle contamination in a vast three-dimensional space. We investigate the occurrence, abundance and characteristics of plastic and non-plastic particles in the scroll intestine of the blue shark (Prionace glauca), one of the most abundant pelagic shark species worldwide.
