Fusarium wilt [ f. sp. (FOV)] in cotton is a widespread soilborne pathogen that causes vascular plant disease and is responsible for substantial crop losses worldwide. FOV race 1 (FOV1) is well established across almost all cotton production regions, especially in the USA. Herein, we report a high-quality whole-genome sequence, assembly, and gene annotation of a FOV1 isolate from California.

Background: Drought is a major limiting factor for plant survival and crop productivity. Stylosanthes angustifolia, a pioneer plant, exhibits remarkable drought tolerance, yet the molecular mechanisms driving its drought resistance remain largely unexplored.

Results: We present a chromosome-scale reference genome of S.

Genomes contain mosaics of discordant evolutionary histories, challenging the accurate inference of the tree of life. While genome-wide data are routinely used for discordance-aware phylogenomic analyses, due to modeling and scalability limitations, the current practice leaves out large chunks of genomes. As more high-quality genomes become available, we urgently need discordance-aware methods to infer the tree directly from a multiple genome alignment.

Tylosema esculentum (marama bean), an underutilized orphan legume native to southern Africa, holds significant potential for domestication as a rescue crop to enhance local food security. Well-adapted to harsh desert environments, it offers valuable insights into plant resilience to extreme drought and high temperatures. In this study, k-mer analysis indicated marama as an ancient allotetraploid legume.

Background: Preimplantation embryos in vivo are exposed to various growth factors in the female reproductive tract that are absent in in vitro embryo culture media. Cell-free fat extract exerts antioxidant, anti-ageing, and ovarian function-promoting effects. However, its effects on embryo quality are yet to be investigated.

Lagerstroemia excelsa is a unique plant species from China, holds a significant aesthetic and economic value, and plays a crucial role in landscape architecture and horticulture. Thus far, there is little genetic and genomic information available about this species, which limits its use in development of new cultivars. In this study, a high-quality genome map of L.
