Here we report a 60-year-old male with a polypoid lesion due to sigmoid diverticulitis treated by endoscopic double-band ligation without resection. The method offers a safe, simple and effective way for polypoid lesions caused by diverticulitis and avoids the risk of perforation.

Endoscopic mucosal resection with double band ligation versus endoscopic submucosal dissection for small rectal neuroendocrine tumors.

World J Gastrointest Surg

March 2023

Department of Gastroenterology, Shenzhen People's Hospital (The Second Clinical Medical College, Jinan University; The First Affiliated Hospital, Southern University of Science and Technology), Shenzhen 518020, Guangdong Province, China.

Background: Endoscopic resection remains an effective method for the treatment of small rectal neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) (≤ 10 mm). Moreover, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) with double band ligation (EMR-dB), a simplified modification of EMR with band ligation, is an alternative strategy to remove small rectal NETs.

Aim: To evaluate the feasibility and safety of EMR-dB for the treatment of small rectal NETs (≤ 10 mm).

Treatment of chronic lateral ankle instability by double-band anatomical reconstruction of the anterior talofibular ligament's fibular enthesis.

Zhong Nan Da Xue Xue Bao Yi Xue Ban

December 2021

Department of Sports Medicine; Research Center of Sports Medicine, Xiangya Hospital, Central South University, Changsha 410008, China.

Objectives: Anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL) injury is one of the most common injuries in sports medicine, resulting in chronic lateral ankle instability (CLAI). The patients' daily life may be seriously affected by ankle osteoarthritis and other irreversible damages, if the ATFL injury is not treated in time and drags on. Patients with ATFL injury who show no significant recovery after 3-6 months of conservative treatment should consider surgical treatment as soon as possible to restore ankle stability and function.
