Here, a series of dinuclear N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) copper(I) complexes having 3,3'-(1,4-phenylenebis(methylene))bis(1-(pyridin-2-yl)-1H-imidazolylidene as bis-NHC ligand and bis[(2-diphenylphosphino)phenyl]ether (POP) as auxiliary ligand have been successfully prepared, and their photophysical properites were investigaged experimentally and theocitcally. The resulting complexes all exhibited intense green to yellow emission that originated from the thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) with a high photoluminescence quantum yield of up to 0.67 and longer excited-state lifetimes on the microsecond time scale in the solid state. Green and yellow light-emitting diode (LED) devices based on Cu(I) complexes have successfully achieved good color rendering indices. Moreover, the anti-counterfeiting patterns and QR codes made of Cu(I) complexes have been applied to clothing, banknotes, books and glass plates with excellent anti-counterfeiting effects.

Salt metathesis of dinickel(II) complex LNiBr (1; L is a dinucleating pyrazolate ligand with two β-diketiminato chelate arms) with Na(OCP) ⋅ (dioxane) yielded LNi(PCO) (2) with a P-bridging phosphaethynolate. Further reaction of 2 with benzyl isocyanide or with an N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) triggered decarbonylation and gave LNi(PCN-CHPh) (3) and LNiP(NHC) (4) with P-bridging cyanophosphide and NHC-phosphinidenide, respectively. Electronic structure analysis indicated a μ-η : η binding mode of the PCO anion between the two Ni ions in 2, which is even more pronounced for the [PCN(-CHPh)] anion in 3.

Perchlorate, initially regarded as a weakly coordinating counterion rather than a reactive oxidizing reagent due to its kinetic stability, has garnered attention for its potential in microbial systems. Under anaerobic conditions, microbes utilize perchlorate as a terminal oxidant for methane oxidation, involving two distinct stages: extraction and release of oxidizing ability. This two-phase activation process necessitates the collaborative action of multiple enzymes, a phenomenon not extensively explored in artificial systems.

A novel dinuclear silylene cobalt complex [((MeP)Co)(PMe)(CoCl(PMe))(Si(NCHPPh)CH)] () supported by the [PSi(silylene)P] ligand was prepared through the reaction of N-heterocyclic [PSiP] pincer ligand (HSiCl(NCHPPh)CH) with Co(PMe). Complex [((MeP)Co)(Si(NCHPPh)CH)] () was formed through the reaction of complex with MeLi. To the best of our knowledge, complexes and are the first examples of dinuclear silylene cobalt complexes supported by the [PSi(silylene)P] ligand.

The synthesis, reactivity, and complexation with Fe(0) precursor of a tight-bite bis(N-heterocyclic silylene) (bis(NHSi)) ligand 1 are reported. The reaction of 1 with p-toluidine led to the activation of both N-H bonds across Si(II) atoms to afford a four-membered heterocyclic cyclodisilazane 2, with hydride substituents attached to five-coordinate Si atoms. A 1 : 2 reaction of 1 with Fe(CO) led to an intriguing dinuclear complex 3 featuring a five-membered (N-Si-Fe-Fe-Si) ring with a Fe-Fe bond distance of 2.

Phosphorus-bridged rigid, bent bis(N-heterocyclic) carbenes have not been reported, so far, despite having structural features that could make them interesting ligands in coordination and main group element chemistry. In previous reports, we had demonstrated that tuning of σ- and σ-phosphorus environments in planarised bis(NHCs) affects electronic properties and can provide additional coordination sites. Herein, we report on first examples of synthesis and conversion of 1,4-diphosphabarrelene-related compounds into rigid bent, doubly P-bridged bis(NHCs).
