Background: As the global population ages, there is increasing pressure on health systems to provide high-quality and cost-effective care for this growing segment of the population. Reablement, primarily a strategic home-based rehabilitation approach, has been demonstrated to be a cost-effective, multidisciplinary, holistic, and person-centred approach to maintaining functional independence as one ages. Given that care delivery in the home setting for older persons is complex, a key feature of effective implementation of reablement is the integration of a multidisciplinary team.

Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a chronic, progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by cognitive decline, memory loss, and impaired reasoning. It is the leading cause of dementia in older adults, marked by the pathological accumulation of amyloid-beta plaques and neurofibrillary tangles. These pathological changes lead to widespread neuronal damage, significantly impacting daily functioning and quality of life.

Neurodegenerative diseases present complex genetic architectures, reflecting a continuum from monogenic to oligogenic and polygenic models. Recent advances in multi-omics data, coupled with systems genetics, have significantly refined our understanding of how these data impact neurodegenerative disease mechanisms. To contextualize these genetic discoveries, we provide a comprehensive critical overview of genetic architecture concepts, from Mendelian inheritance to the latest insights from oligogenic and omnigenic models.

Most of the recent work in psychedelic neuroscience has been done using noninvasive neuroimaging, with data recorded from the brains of adult volunteers under the influence of a variety of drugs. While these data provide holistic insights into the effects of psychedelics on whole-brain dynamics, the effects of psychedelics on the mesoscale dynamics of neuronal circuits remain much less explored. Here, we report the effects of the serotonergic psychedelic N,N-diproptyltryptamine (DPT) on information-processing dynamics in a sample of in vitro organotypic cultures of cortical tissue from postnatal rats.

Type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) is a common autoimmune pathology requiring lifelong insulin therapy. We report the case of a 12-year-old girl with T1DM admitted to Department C of the National Institute of Nutrition of Tunis for diabetic ketosis. She had suffered from T1DM for five years, with poor glycemic control (hemoglobin A1C = 10%) and poor therapeutic adherence.
