The superlattice obtained by aligning a monolayer graphene and boron nitride (BN) inherits from the hexagonal lattice a sixty degrees periodicity with the layer alignment. It implies that, in principle, the properties of the heterostructure must be identical for 0° and 60° of layer alignment. Here, we demonstrate, using dynamically rotatable van der Waals heterostructures, that the moiré superlattice formed in a bilayer graphene/BN has different electronic properties at 0° and 60° of alignment. Although the existence of these non-identical moiré twins is explained by different relaxation of the atomic structures for each alignment, the origin of the observed valley Hall effect remains to be explained. A simple Berry curvature argument is not sufficient to explain the 120° periodicity of this observation. Our results highlight the complexity of the interplay between mechanical and electronic properties in moiré structures and the importance of taking into account atomic structure relaxation to understand their electronic properties.

Objectives: This study aimed to verify if composites containing dicalcium phosphate dihydrate particles (DCPD) are able to induce dentin remineralization in vitro. Additionally, the mechanical properties of the materials were tested.
Methods: Four composites with 50 vol% inorganic content and 1 BisGMA: 1 TEGDMA (mols) were prepared, with different DCPD:glass ratios (50:0, 40:10, 30:20 and 0:50).

Background & Aims: Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver (MASLD) progression is driven by chronic inflammation and fibrosis, largely influenced by Kupffer cell (KC) dynamics, particularly replenishment of pro-inflammatory monocyte-derived KCs (MoKCs) due to increased death of embryo-derived KCs. Adenosine A3 receptor (A3AR) plays a key role in regulating metabolism and immune responses, making it a promising therapeutic target. This study aimed to investigate the impact of selective A3AR antagonism for regulation of replenished MoKCs, thereby improving MASLD.

Poly(DL-lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) and N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP)-based in situ forming implants are liquid formulations that solidify through phase separation following injection into the body. Drug is dissolved or suspended in the final formulation liquid prior to injection. Depending on the polymers used, the depots formed can deliver drug over different periods of time.

Descartes' systematic physics had little to do with his quantitative accounts of natural phenomena. The former was metaphysical and was concerned with uncovering the causes operating in nature, while the latter dealt with establishing mathematical relations between various natural quantities. I reconstruct a dominant interpretation in recent literature which argues that the two practices are autonomous, and that quantitative problem-solving is normatively subordinated to metaphysical physics.

Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play crucial roles in numerous biological processes and are involved in complex human diseases through interactions with proteins. Accurate identification of lncRNA-protein interactions (LPI) can help elucidate the functional mechanisms of lncRNAs and provide scientific insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying related diseases. While many sequence-based methods have been developed to predict LPIs, efficiently extracting and effectively integrating potential feature information that reflects functional attributes from lncRNA and protein sequences remains a significant challenge.
