Supplementation with serine-enriched non-essential amino acids from minimum essential medium promotes blastocyst development of in vitro-fertilized bovine embryos.

To produce an embryo, a high conception rate must be complied along with four evaluation criteria based on the timing of early cleavage and proper embryo morphology (hereafter, these blastocysts will be referred to as "four-criteria-compliant blastocysts"). Therefore, it is necessary to construct a culture system for high efficiency production of embryos meeting these four criteria. Non-essential amino acids (NEAAs) are widely used for the culture of bovine embryos fertilized in vitro; however, the necessity and optimal concentration of individual NEAA must be verified to produce four-criteria-compliant blastocysts.

Following myocardial infarction (MI), the accumulation of CD86-positive macrophages in the ischemic injury zone leads to secondary myocardial damage. Precise pharmacological intervention targeting this process remains challenging. This study engineered a nanotherapeutic delivery system with CD86-positive macrophage-specific targeting and ultrasound-responsive release capabilities.

Undecylprodigiosin (UDP), a desirable pyrrole-based biomaterial, holds significant promise in pharmaceutical and medical applications due to its diverse biological activities. However, its application is usually hampered by low synthesis efficiency and high production costs. Here, we developed a high-efficiency and cost-effective strategy for UDP synthesis using collagen hydrolysate (COH) as a readily available and abundant precursor source in conjunction with sp.

Spatial Genomic Approaches to Investigate HOX Genes in Mouse Brain Tissues.

Methods Mol Biol

January 2025

Yale Center of Molecular and Cellular Oncology, Yale University, New Haven, CT, USA.

Spatial transcriptomic tools are an upcoming and powerful way to investigate targeted gene expression patterns within tissues. These tools offer the unique advantage of visualizing and understanding gene expression while preserving tissue integrity, thereby maintaining the spatial context of genes. Curio is a robust spatial transcriptomic tool that facilitates high throughput comprehensive spatial gene expression analysis across the entir e transcriptome with high efficiency.

The faithful production of primordial germ cells (PGCs) in vitro opens a wide range of novel applications in reproductive biology and medicine. However, the reproducibility of PGCs culture conditions across different laboratories or breeds remains a challenge. Therefore, it is necessary to research the molecular dynamics that lead to the gradual establishment of cultured PGCs lines network.
