Dropout from psychological or pharmacological treatment for anxiety and depressive disorders is common. It is especially problematic in adolescents and young adults because of the adverse consequences for their development. Reasons for treatment dropout can be divided into therapy-process related factors, attitudinal aspects, and practical issues. Adjusting treatment to patient preferences and shared decision making, improving the therapeutic alliance, and interventions such as (family) psychoeducation, motivational interviewing, and help with practical issues are promising strategies to optimize engagement and adherence.

Aims: Cardiac rehabilitation (CR) shows lower effectiveness and higher dropouts among people with a low socioeconomic position (SEP) compared to those with a high SEP. This study evaluated an eHealth intervention aimed at supporting patients with a low SEP during their waiting period preceding CR.
Methods And Results: Participants with a low SEP in their waiting period before CR were randomized into an intervention group, receiving guidance videos, patient narratives, and practical tips, or into a control group.

Background: Prehabilitation is a crucial component of tumor rehabilitation that attempts to improve patients' preoperative health, although its efficacy in treating patients with cancers of the digestive system is still up for debate.
Methods: The records from PubMed (MEDLINE), Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, EBSCO, Scopus, CNKI and Wan fang database up to November 2024 were systematically searched. The Cochrane Collaboration tool was employed for evaluating the risk of bias in each study, and the PRISMA 2020 checklist provided by the EQUATOR network was utilized.

Introduction: Pulmonary rehabilitation is underutilised in patients after an acute exacerbation of COPD (AECOPD). Retrieving information regarding the setting, training modalities and the uptake and adherence to exercise interventions for these individuals in a vulnerable state could potentially guide future research.
Aim: To provide a comprehensive review of the existing literature on the content, uptake and adherence of different exercise interventions for patients after an AECOPD.

Introduction And Background: The three medications approved to address OUD are effective in decreasing opioid use and morbidity and mortality; however, their utility is limited by high rates of dropout from treatment. The CTN-0100 trial will develop an evidence base for strategies to improve retention on buprenorphine and extended-release naltrexone.
Research Design And Methods: The National Drug Abuse Treatment Clinical Trials Network (CTN) study CTN-0100, "Optimizing Retention, Duration and Discontinuation Strategies for Opioid Use Disorder Pharmacotherapy" (RDD), is a multicenter, randomized, non-blinded trial enrolling more than a thousand patients from 18 community-based substance use disorder treatment programs.

Trauma exposure is common in (pre) school-aged children and around one-fifth of exposed children meet the criteria for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). These symptoms can cause severe impairment to a child's functioning and, if left untreated, have negative long-term consequences. Therefore, there is an urgent need for effective treatment to reduce the acute and long-term effects of trauma.
