The COVID-19 outbreak has led to lockdown of cities and restricted access to university campuses, and hence face-to-face delivery of education has been disrupted worldwide. In order to continue teaching, learning and assessment activities, academic institutions have embarked on online delivery and assessments using technology. Online open book examination is one of the tools considered during the crisis period to ensure that students' progression in the academic programmes and graduation are not delayed. Its use is supported by literature evidences that show promotion of critical thinking and problem solving skills amongst students. The positive findings from our previous study on the impact of open book examinations on student performance and learning approach have encouraged us to implement online open book examinations in various health professional programmes in our institution during the COVID-19 pandemic. While some successful progress has been made, there are areas that need further exploration to provide detailed insights on the practice and effectiveness of remote online open book examinations. The objective of this paper is to share the practical tips for implementing online open book examinations remotely, in order to ensure the validity, reliability and fairness of the examinations.

Introduction: There are limited data regarding the associations between public transportation reliance, availability, and diabetic foot ulcer (DFU)-related amputations.
Research Design And Methods: We used visit-level data from the Georgia 2016-2019 Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project database and obtained transportation variables from open sources. Using Bayesian spatial-temporal models, we assessed the associations between transportation and DFU-related amputations within each quartile of poverty status indicators at the ZIP code tabulation area (ZCTA) level.

While earlier post-mortem studies show involvement of the central nervous system in 71% of patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), involvement intravitam is rare. A 72-year-old man with untreated, minimally symptomatic CLL developed subacute-onset encephalopathy and presented with severe hyponatremia and stress-induced cardiomyopathy. His initial head computed tomography scan was unremarkable.

Objective: This study investigates the effectiveness of a newly developed smartphone-based application for teaching population oral health needs assessment to undergraduate dental students.
Methods: Target population in this study consisted of all students of Shahid Beheshti School of dentistry in the 7 and 8 semesters in the year 2023. The intervention group (7 semester) received teaching about population oral health needs assessment based on the book "Oral health surveys; basic methods", by means of an application, while the control group (8 semester) received the same content through self-learning activity.
