In this paper, we present a prototype pseudo-direct time-of-flight (ToF) CMOS image sensor, achieving high distance accuracy, precision, and robustness to multipath interference. An indirect ToF (iToF)-based image sensor, which enables high spatial resolution, is used to acquire temporal compressed signals in the charge domain. Whole received light waveforms, like those acquired with conventional direct ToF (dToF) image sensors, can be obtained after image reconstruction based on compressive sensing. Therefore, this method has the advantages of both dToF and iToF depth image sensors, such as high resolution, high accuracy, immunity to multipath interference, and the absence of motion artifacts. Additionally, two approaches to refine the depth resolution are explained: (1) the introduction of a sub-time window; and (2) oversampling in image reconstruction and quadratic fitting in the depth calculation. Experimental results show the separation of two reflections 40 cm apart under multipath interference conditions and a significant improvement in distance precision down to around 1 cm. Point cloud map videos demonstrate the improvements in depth resolution and accuracy. These results suggest that the proposed method could be a promising approach for virtually implementing dToF imaging suitable for challenging environments with multipath interference.

Nevertheless, due to factors such as multipath propagation, electromagnetic interference, and frequency band congestion in high dynamic scenarios, unmanned cluster networks experience frequent topology changes and severe spectrum limitations, which hinder the provision of connected, elastic and autonomous network support for data interaction among unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) nodes. To address the conflict between the demand for reliable data transmission and the limited network resources, this paper proposes an AODV routing protocol based on node energy consumption and mobility optimization (AODV-EM) from the perspective of network routing protocols.

Recent experimental studies showed that electrically coupled neural networks like in mammalian inferior olive nucleus generate synchronized rhythmic activity by the subthreshold sinusoidal-like oscillations of the membrane voltage. Understanding the basic mechanism and its implication of such phenomena in the nervous system bears fundamental importance and requires preemptively the connectome information of a given nervous system. Inspired by these necessities of developing a theoretical and computational model to this end and, however, in the absence of connectome information for the inferior olive nucleus, here we investigated interference phenomena of the subthreshold oscillations in the reference system for which the structural anatomical connectome was completely known recently.

The hindering of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) signal reception by jamming and spoofing attacks degrades the signal quality. Careful attention needs to be paid when post-processing the signal under these circumstances before feeding the signal into the GNSS receiver's post-processing stage. We present a high-sensitivity curvature and strain Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) fiber sensor based on a configuration of no-core fiber (NCF) and four-core fiber (FCF). We used an optical fiber fusion splicer to directly splice a segment of FCF between two segments of NCF, with both the FCF and NCF made of SiO, where the FCF exhibits multi-path interference characteristics that allow for higher sensitivity. The NCF, with its self-focusing property, excites higher-order modes, which split and transmit it into the four cores of the FCF.

We introduce a novel technique for enhancing the robustness of light-pulse atom interferometers against the pulse infidelities that typically limit their sensitivities. The technique uses quantum optimal control to favorably harness the multipath interference of the stray trajectories produced by imperfect atom-optics operations. We apply this method to a resonant atom interferometer and achieve thousandfold phase amplification, representing a 50-fold improvement over the performance observed without optimized control.
