The synthesis of a C-labeled C-18 functionalized steroid (as referred as EM-6798) that will serve as a probe for the research of novel antiandrogens has been accomplished. This radioactive steroid was obtained in nine steps by coupling racemic N-cyclohexyl-1-(3'-hydroxy[U- C]phenyl)propylamine with protected 18-bromomethyl-3,17-androstenedione. Incorporation of the radiolabel on the C-18 side chain was achieved using commercially available 3-bromo[U- C]phenol. Alkylation of N-cyclohexyl-1-(3'-hydroxy[U- C]phenyl)propylamine with 3-ethylenedioxy-18-bromomethyl-3,17-androstenedione furnished after reduction and deprotection, [phenyl-U- C]EM-6798 in a 20% overall yield from 3-bromo[U- C]phenol at a specific activity of 156 μCi/mg with 97.9% radiochemical purity as determined by HPLC.

This study investigates novel strategies to improve membrane performance and stability in the extraction of aromatic amines for chiral amine production. The effects of silica nanoparticle addition and polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) coating were explored, with a focus on the selective extraction of α-methylbenzylamine (MBA) and 1-methyl-3-phenylpropylamine (MPPA) from isopropyl amine (IPA). This work introduces a comparative analysis between open and tight membrane extraction (ME) systems, with and without the ionic liquid (IL) [P][N(Tf)].

Metal halide perovskites (MHPs) have shown great potential for direct X-ray detection, but achieving high sensitivity without external bias remains challenging. Chiral-polar alternating cation intercalation (ACI)-type MHPs, with excellent optoelectronic properties and a robust chirality-induced bulk photovoltaic effect (BPVE), offer a promising platform for self-driven X-ray detection. Herein, impressive self-driven X-ray detection performance was achieved by utilizing chiral-polar 2D ACI-type perovskite single crystals of (-PPA)PAPbBr (; -PPA = -1-phenylpropylamine; PA = propylamine).

Circularly polarized light (CPL) detection has wide applications in many fields, where the anisotropy factor (g ) is an important indicator to characterize the CPL detection performance. So far, many materials with high g have been reported, however, the exploration of the regulation of g is still in its infancy. Herein, two novel alternating chiral-achiral cations intercalation-type chiral hybrid perovskites (CHPs), named (R/S-1-phenylpropylamine)(propylamine)PbBr (1-R/S), exhibit above room-temperature (RT) polar-phase transition, which greatly regulates the g value.

(-)-5,9-Dimethyl-6,7-benzomorphan (normetazocine) derivatives with a -OH or -F substituent in the aromatic ring of the -phenethyl moiety were synthesized and found to have subnanomolar potency at MOR, and both were fully efficacious in vitro. These new compounds, (1,5,9)-6,11-dimethyl-3-(2-fluorophenethyl)-1,2,3,4,5,6-hexahydro-2,6-methanobenzo[d]azocin-8-ol and (1,5,9)-6,11-dimethyl-3-(4-hydroxyphenethyl)-1,2,3,4,5,6-hexahydro-2,6-methanobenzo[d]azocin-8-ol, were more potent than the unsubstituted compound -phenethylnormetazocine and about 30 or 40 times more potent than morphine, respectively. A variety of substituents in the , , or position in the aromatic ring of the -phenethyl moiety were synthesized, 25 of these compounds, and found to have varying effects on potency and efficacy as determined by the forskolin-induced cAMP accumulation assay.
