The purpose of this study was to investigate socioeconomic inequalities in diabetes prevalence, non-awareness, non-treatment, and non-control among South Korean adults in 2021. This cross-sectional study used data from the 2021 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. Relative concentration indices (RCIs) and relative concentration curves stratified by sex and age were used to investigate socioeconomic inequalities in the prevalence, non-awareness, non-treatment, and non-control of diabetes.

In Mexico, 75% of diabetes mellitus type 2 (DMT2) patients are not in glycaemic control criteria (HbA1c<7%); this entails a significantly variable drug response. Amongst the factors influencing such variability, are genetics, more specifically, single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). Three genes implied in metformin pharmacokinetics are , , and , which are polymorphic.

Atherosclerotic carotid stenosis (ACS) is a recognized risk factor for ischemic stroke. Currently, the gold diagnostic standard is Doppler ultrasound, the results of which do not provide certainty whether a given person should be qualified for surgery or not, because in some patients, carotid artery stenosis, for example at the level of 70 %, does not cause ischemic stroke in others yes. Therefore, there is a need for new methods that will clearly indicate the marker qualifying the patient for surgery.

Background: Malaria is one of the major vector-borne diseases most sensitive to climatic change in West Africa. The prevention and reduction of malaria are very difficult in Benin due to poverty, economic insatiability and the non control of environmental determinants. This study aims to develop an intelligent outbreak malaria early warning model driven by monthly time series climatic variables in the northern part of Benin.
