Background: Therapeutic hypothermia improves outcomes in experimental stroke models, especially after ischemia-reperfusion injury. In recent years, the safety and efficacy of hypothermia combining thrombolysis or mechanical thrombectomy have attracted widespread attention. The primary objective of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of hypothermia by combining reperfusion therapy in acute ischemic stroke patients.

Background: Acute ischemic stroke (AIS) is an abrupt blood flow cessation to a specific brain region within a vascular zone, causing a subsequent decline in neurological capabilities. Stent thrombectomy is a recently established technique for treating AIS. It provides the benefits of being a relatively simple and safe procedure, capable of partially enhancing a patient's condition.

PostGlenn thrombosis is an infrequent, serious complication requiring immediate attention, which is not uncommon in a resource-limited setting where patients are often lost to follow-up and have poor compliance with medications. This rare complication has infrequently been reported in the past. We describe a case of a massive thromboembolic event in a patient presenting acutely in a decompensated state 14 years after initial palliation by Glenn shunt.

Purpose: Mechanical thrombectomy (MT) for distal medium vessel occlusions (DMVOs) in the middle cerebral artery (MCA) is less established than for large vessel occlusions. This study evaluates the safety and efficacy of MT in DMVOs, comparing it with M1-segment occlusions.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective study analyzed 218 patients who underwent MT for isolated M1 (n=123) or distal M2+M3 (n=35) occlusions between January 2020 and August 2023.
