This study investigates the effect of different normalisation methods on muscle synergy extraction from EMG data collected while walking in typically developing young people. Six methods were evaluated: Raw, Within-Trial Maximum, Inter-Trial Maximum, Task-Specific Maximum, Magnitude Percentile, and Unit Variance. Eighteen healthy children aged 8-15 participated, performing walking trials while their EMG signals were recorded and processed.

Intratumoral injections often lack visibility, leading to unpredictable outcomes such as incomplete tumor coverage, off-target drug delivery and systemic toxicities. This study investigated an ultrasound (US) and x-ray imageable thermosensitive hydrogel based on poloxamer 407 (POL) percutaneously delivered in a healthy swine model. The primary objective was to assess the 2D and 3D distribution of the hydrogel within tissue across three different needle devices and injection sites: liver, kidney, and intercostal muscle region.

Background: This investigation assessed patient satisfaction with a temporal incision technique using a super-high superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS) flap for midface lifting in a Chinese patient cohort.
Methods: From July 2019 to July 2023, 95 patients underwent midface lifts via a temporal incision approach at our institution. The extent of SMAS flap dissection spanned 2 cm above the outer canthus, to the lower margin of the zygomatic arch inferiorly, and medially to the zygomaticus major muscle.

This report describes the presentation and management of an incidental primary splenic hemangiosarcoma with hemorrhagic muscle metastasis following an incisional biopsy of a temporalis mass in a dog. In the absence of clinical signs related to the primary splenic lesion, skeletal muscle metastasis of hemangiosarcoma could be misdiagnosed as isolated primary tumor, resulting in failure to provide an accurate prognosis and effective treatment of the primary tumor itself. A thorough diagnostic imaging workup in patients presenting with blood-filled subcutaneous or muscular masses is fundamental to rule out a primary visceral hemangiosarcoma.
