Background: The long-acting injectable regimen of cabotegravir plus rilpivirine (CAB/RPV) emerged as an alternative to oral standard of care integrase strand transfer inhibitor (INSTI)-based regimens for individuals with adherence challenges or preference for reduced dosing schedules. Although oral INSTI regimens have a high barrier to emergent resistance, less is known about the potency and durability of CAB/RPV.
Methods: We reviewed clinical trial registries, PubMed, EMBASE, and conference abstract databases to identify published reports of CAB/RPV for HIV therapy.

Introduction: In low-and-middle-income-countries (LMIC), viral suppression is defined as plasma viral load (PVL) below 1000 copies/mL (low-level viremia [LLV]) and threshold for HIV drug resistance (HIVDR) testing. However, there is evidence that drug resistance mutations (DRMs) may emerge at LLV, thus compromising antiretroviral treatment (ART) response We evaluated sequencing success rates (SSR) at LLV, described HIVDR profiles and adequacy with potential efficacy of tenofovir-lamivudine-dolutegravir (TLD).
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among individuals with LLV at the Chantal BIYA International Reference Centre, Yaoundé, Cameroon from January 2020 through August 2021.

Lowering viral load during pregnancy is regarded as the most important method of reducing human immunodeficiency virus 1 (HIV-1) vertical transmission risk, and minimizing fetal exposure to drugs is a guiding principle during pregnancy. Dolutegravir/lamivudine (DTG/3TC) has demonstrated high efficacy, a high barrier to resistance, and a good safety profile in non-pregnant individuals; however, DTG/3TC is not recommended by perinatal HIV treatment guidelines for initial therapy in pregnant people living with HIV-1 because of limited data on use of the 2-drug regimen during pregnancy. Efficacy and pharmacokinetic data from pregnant individuals using DTG and/or 3TC are reviewed and used to extrapolate anticipated DTG/3TC efficacy in pregnancy.

Objectives: To examine if point-of-care urine tenofovir testing-informed counseling could be used to improve virologic suppression (VS) among participants with virologic failure (VF) after ≥1 prior round of enhanced adherence counseling (EAC).
Methods: Participants were enrolled from 42 clinics across Namibia. At each monthly medication pick-up, participants completed the point-of-care urine test and received EAC informed by this testing (EAC+).
