While abstraction is one of the best studied topics in psychology, there is little consensus on its relationship to valence and affect. Some studies have found that abstraction is associated with greater positivity, while other studies have led to the opposite conclusion. In this paper we suggest that a substantial part of this inconsistency can be attributed to the polysemy of the term abstraction.

RNAs are increasingly recognized as promising therapeutic targets, susceptible to modulation by strategies that include targeting with small molecules, antisense oligonucleotides, deoxyribozymes (DNAzymes), or CRISPR/Cas13. However, while drug development for proteins follows well-established paths for rational design based on the accurate knowledge of their three-dimensional structure, RNA-targeting strategies are challenging since comprehensive RNA structures are yet scarce and challenging to acquire. Numerous methods have been developed to elucidate the secondary and three-dimensional structure of RNAs, including X-ray crystallography, cryo-electron microscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, SHAPE, DMS, and bioinformatic methods, yet they have often revealed flexible transcripts and co-existing populations rather than single-defined structures.

The health sector has faced long-standing challenges in drivers of worker behaviours and performance, such as job satisfaction, which have been worsened by COVID-19. Structural issues including high workloads and poor working conditions have long contributed to dissatisfaction among health workers. The pandemic escalated unsafe working conditions, causing workers' deaths, increasing burnout rates, and contributing to exodus from health-care jobs.

Exocrine glands are important mediators of communication in eusocial insects and the description of novel glands reflects the complex context in which these animals live. Here we revisit the head-associated glands in workers of the Neotropical termite Cornitermes cumulans through histological analysis and describe a novel gland for this caste, the intramandibular glands. This structure is located underneath the cuticle of the dorsodistal part of each mandible.

Background: The adoption of integrated curricula in medical schools has grown globally, emphasizing the need to understand academic medical staff satisfaction as a crucial factor influencing successful implementation.
Aim: This study aimed to assess satisfaction levels among academic medical staff with integrated medical curricula, identifying socio-demographic and work-related predictors of dissatisfaction.
Methods: A cross-sectional, online multinational survey was conducted from December 2023 to April 2024 among 525 academic medical staff.
