BACKGROUND Ureaplasma urealyticum (UU) is a common microorganism that has been associated with a variety of obstetric and neonatal complications, such as infertility, stillbirth, histologic chorioamnionitis, neonatal sepsis, respiratory infections, and central nervous system infections. However, it is rare for it to cause severe neonatal asphyxia. This rarity is the focus of our case report, which aims to highlight the potential severity of UU infections in newborns.

We report the features of spontaneous bilateral thyroid follicular cell carcinoma in a 10-year-old male beagle. Necropsy revealed bilateral masses on the trachea, corresponding to the left and right sides of the thyroid gland. The masses were elastic, encapsulated, and distinct, with no connecting tumor tissues between them.

In the current study, a gene with repetitive sequence was identified within the silkworm genome. When a difficult airway is anticipated, awake tracheal intubation can be considered. Usually, low doses of sedatives are administered during this procedure for minimal sedation and anxiolysis, such as midazolam and remifentanil. The newly developed ultra-short-acting benzodiazepine remimazolam has a pharmacokinetic profile that is more suitable for titration during awake tracheal intubation than the long-acting midazolam.
