The coupling of hetero monolayers into van der Waals (vdW) heterostructures has become an effective way to obtain tunable physical and chemical properties of two dimensional (2D) materials. In this work, based on first principles calculations, we systematically explore the electronic and magnetic properties of a 2D VOCl/PtTe heterostructure. Our results indicate that the ground state of the VOCl/PtTe heterostructure is a ferromagnetic (FM) metal with large magnetic anisotropy energy, among which, the VOCl "sublayer" shows FM half metallic properties while the PtTe "sublayer" shows nonmagnetic metallic properties. The Curie temperature () of VOCl/PtTe is 111 K. Moreover, the FM-antiferromagnetic (AFM) phase transition can be obtained under biaxial strain. Our work provides an effective way to improve the performance of 2D monolayers in nano-electronic devices.

Stabilizing large easy-axis type magnetic anisotropy in molecular complexes is a challenging task, yet it is crucial for the development of information storage devices and applications in molecular spintronics. Achieving this requires a deep understanding of electronic structure and the relationships between structure and properties to develop magneto-structural correlations that are currently unexplored in the literature. Herein, a series of five-coordinate distorted square pyramidal Co complexes [Co(L)(X)].

In this work, Ge vacancies and doping with transition metals (Mn and Fe) are proposed to modulate the electronic and magnetic properties of GeP monolayers. A pristine GeP monolayer is a non-magnetic two-dimensional (2D) material, exhibiting indirect gap semiconductor behavior with an energy gap of 1.34(2.

The hippocampus is a small, yet intricate seahorse-shaped tiny structure located deep within the brain's medial temporal lobe. It is a crucial component of the limbic system, which is responsible for regulating emotions, memory, and spatial navigation. This research focuses on automatic hippocampus segmentation from Magnetic Resonance (MR) images of a human head with high accuracy and fewer false positive and false negative rates.

Modulating the electronic properties of VSiN with high Curie temperature to realize an ideal half-metal is appealing towards spintronic applications. Here, by using first-principles calculations, we propose alloying the VSiN monolayer via substitutive doping of transition metal atoms (Sc-Ni, Y-Mo) at the V site. We find that the transition metal atom (except the Ni atom) doped VSiN systems have dynamical and thermal stability.
