X ray fluorescence ghost imaging (XRF-GI) was recently demonstrated for x ray lab sources. It has the potential to reduce the acquisition time and deposited dose by choosing their trade-off with a spatial resolution while alleviating the focusing constraints of the probing beam. Here, we demonstrate the realization of synchrotron-based XRF-GI: we present both an adapted experimental setup and its corresponding required computational technique to process the data. This extends the above-mentioned potential advantages of GI to synchrotron XRF imaging. In addition, it enables new strategies to improve resilience against drifts at all scales and the study of previously inaccessible samples, such as liquids.

This paper presents progress made toward the overarching goal to adapt single-photon-counting microcalorimeters to magnetic fusion energy research and demonstrate the value of such measurements for fusion. Microcalorimeter spectrometers combine the best characteristics of x-ray instrumentation currently available on fusion devices: high spectral resolution similar to an x-ray crystal spectrometer and broad spectral coverage sufficient to measure impurity species from Be to W. As a proof-of-principle experiment, a NASA-built x-ray microcalorimeter spectrometer has been installed on the Madison Symmetric Torus (MST) at the Wisconsin Plasma Physics Laboratory.

Despite the improvements in outcomes for patients with multiple myeloma (MM) over the past decade, the disease remains incurable, and even those patients who initially respond favorably to induction therapy eventually suffer from relapse. Consequently, there is an urgent need for the development of novel therapeutic agents and strategies to enhance the treatment outcomes for patients with MM. The proteasome inhibitor bortezomib (BTZ) elicits endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress and oxidative stress in MM cells, subsequent DNA damage, ultimately inducing cell apoptosis.

Purpose: Photon counting detectors offer promising advancements in computed tomography (CT) imaging by enabling the quantification and three-dimensional imaging of contrast agents and tissue types through simultaneous multi-energy projections from broad X-ray spectra. However, the accuracy of these decomposition methods hinges on precise composite spectral attenuation values that one must reconstruct from spectral micro-CT. Errors in such estimations could be due to effects such as beam hardening, object scatter, or detector sensor-related spectral distortions such as fluorescence.

Purpose: Biofilms are one of the main threats related to bacteria. Owing to their complex structure, in which bacteria are embedded in the extracellular matrix, they are extremely challenging to eradicate, especially since they can inhabit both biotic and abiotic surfaces. This study aimed to create an effective antibiofilm nanofilm based on graphene oxide-metal nanoparticles (GOM-NPs).

R - C(S) - NH - N = CH - R [R = o-OCHCH & R = CHN (2-EBP), R = o-OCHCH & R = CHNO (2-EBM), R = p-OCHCH & R = CHN (4-EBP), and R = p-OCHCH & R = CHNO (4-EBM)] have been synthesized. The ligands have been verified via various spectroscopic methods such as IR, NMR, etc. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction methods were applied to identify the structure of 4-EBP.
