Introduction: Urinary incontinence is a common ailment in women and is likely to affect their work ability. We investigated the associations between the different subtypes of urinary incontinence and several dimensions of perceived work ability in middle-aged general population.
Material And Methods: Cross-sectional survey at age 46 among participants of the Northern Finland Birth Cohort 1966 study (n = 3706, response rate 72%). Urinary incontinence symptoms and several items of Work Ability Index were collected by postal questionnaire. Work ability was dichotomized as good or poor work ability in general, in relation to physical job demands, to diseases and own 2-year prospect of work ability. The associations between urinary incontinence and work ability measures were assessed using logistic regression models, with further adjustments for biological, behavioral and work-related factors as well as general health.
Results: The odds ratio (OR), from lowest to highest, for poor work ability were 1.4-fold among women with stress urinary incontinence (OR 1.37, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.09-1.72), 2.5-fold with mixed urinary incontinence (OR 2.51, 95% CI 1.68-3.74) and 3.3-fold with urgency urinary incontinence (OR 3.34, 95% CI 1.95-5.70). We note that our results reflect work ability in a Nordic society.
Conclusions: Especially urgency and mixed types of urinary incontinence are associated with poor work ability among middle-aged women.

Preserving the ability to vividly recall emotionally rich experiences contributes to quality of life in older adulthood. While prior works suggest that moderate-intensity physical activity (MPA) may bolster memory, it is unclear whether this extends to emotionally salient memories consolidated during sleep. In the current study, older adults (mean age = 72.

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries (AZIBs) stand out among many energy storage systems due to their many merits, and it's expected to become an alternative to the prevailing alkali metal ion batteries. Nevertheless, the cumbersome manufacturing process and the high cost of conventional separators make them unfavorable for large-scale applications. Herein, inspired by the unique nature of cellulose and ZrO, a Janus cellulose fiber (CF)/polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)/ZrO separator is prepared via the vacuum filtration method.

Erosive tooth wear (ETW) is a prevalent oral condition with varying etiology, including erosion, abrasion, abfraction, and attrition. It is reported in the literature in different nomenclatures, hindering the ability to identify the emerging trends and influential scholarly works and bodies within this field. Using a bibliometric analysis approach, this study aims to evaluate the trends, themes, and productivity of the research on ETW condition while respecting its different terminologies.

Polymeric coronary stents, like the ABSORB™, are commonly used to treat atherosclerosis due to their bioresorbable and cell-compatible polymer structure. However, they face challenges such as high strut thickness, high elastic recoil, and lack of radiopacity. This study aims to address these limitations by modifying degradable stents produced by additive manufacturing with poly(lactic acid) (PLA) and poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) with degradable metallic coatings, specifically zinc (Zn) and magnesium (Mg), deposited via radiofrequency (rf) magnetron sputtering.

Purpose: Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a chronic, progressive lung disease. PANoptosis, a unique inflammatory programmed cell death, it manifests as the simultaneous activation of signaling markers for pyroptosis, apoptosis, and necroptosis. However, research on the role of PANoptosis in the development of IPF is currently limited.
