Our aim is to develop a blood pressure (BP) measurement technology that could be integrated into a finger-worn pulse oximeter, eliminating the need for a brachial cuff. We present a miniature cuffless tonometric finger probe system that uses the oscillometric method to measure BP. Our approach uses a motorized press that is used to apply pressure to the fingertip to measure BP. We verified the functionality of the device in a clinical trial (n = 43) resulting in systolic and diastolic pressures (( ± ) mmHg) of (-3.5 ± 8.4) mmHg and (-4.0 ± 4.4) mmHg, respectively. Comparison was made with manual auscultation (n = 26) and automated cuff oscillometry (n = 18). In addition to BP, we demonstrated the ability of the device to assess arterial stiffness (n = 18) and detect atrial fibrillation (n = 6). We were able to introduce a sufficiently small device that could be used for convenient ambulatory measurements with minimal discomfort.

Background: Musculoskeletal ultrasonography of the hand and wrist is becoming the trend in assessing and diagnosing most hand and wrist injuries, soft-tissue mass, and occult fractures. Its advantages include ultra-high frequency probes, noninvasiveness, cost-effectiveness, lack of ionising radiation, and portability. The patients are comfortable doing this procedure in the outpatient department, and visualising the ultrasound images increases their confidence.

Trigger finger (TF), also known as stenosing flexor tenosynovitis, is a common pathology of the fingers causing functional deficit of the hand. In recent years, new therapeutic approaches such as extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) and ultrasound-guided (USG) procedures have joined the most traditional conservative treatments as the adaptation of daily activities involving the affected hand and the orthosis. Likewise, the ultrasound (US) examination of the affected finger using modern high-frequency probes has progressively become part of the comprehensive assessment of patients with TF coupled with the medical history, the physical examination, and the functional scales.

Ran-binding domain-containing protein 2 (ZRANB2) is a zinc finger (ZF) protein that plays a key role in alternative splicing. ZRANB2 is composed of two ZF domains that contain four invariant cysteine residues per domain. ZRANB2 binds RNA targets that contain AGGUAA sequence motifs.

This work presents a facile, ultrasensitive, and selective chemiresistive biosensor assisted by an adaptive signal extraction algorithm (ASEA) for detecting vimentin, a potential biomarker for ovarian cancer detection. The low-cost device, fabricated on a PCB substrate through sacrificial copper etching, features a 3D-IDE design with interwoven comb-like structures mimicking the natural symmetry of a droplet. An unequal count of positive and negative concentric circle fingers ensures a uniform, higher electric field over the sensor's surface, as verified by COMSOL Multiphysics 3D simulation.

Introduction: Dupuytren's contracture is a fibrotic disorder of the palmar fascia, leading to debilitating finger deformities. Traditional treatments, like open fasciectomy and collagenase injection, carry high risks of complications and recurrence. Ultrasound-guided techniques offer a potentially safer, minimally invasive alternative but are limited by the irregular skin surfaces and flexion deformities in Dupuytren's disease.
