As one of the grain crop pathogenic fungi with the greatest impacts on agricultural economical as well as human health, an elaborate understanding of the life cycle and subsequent metabolome of is of great interest. Throughout the lifetime of the fungus, it is known to produce a wide array of secondary metabolites, including polyketides. One of the polyketides which has remained a mystery until now has been elucidated in this work. Previously, it was suggested that the biosynthetic product of the gene cluster was involved in active mycelial growth, the exact mechanism, however, remained unclear. In our work, disruption and overexpression of the gene in enabled structural elucidation of a linear and a cyclic tetraketide with a double methyl group, named fugralin A and B, respectively. Further functional characterization showed that the compounds are not produced during infection, and that deletion and overexpression did not affect pathogenicity or visual growth. The compounds were shown to be volatile, which could point to possible functions that can be investigated further in future studies.

Background: Vaccines have contributed to the disappearance of various diseases, and almost eradicated others across the world. Studies have shown that in Lebanon a profoundly small percentage of Syrian refugee children were fully immunized by routine vaccination services. Exploring the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of parents towards vaccination is of crucial importance, given the role of parents in children's immunization.

This paper presents a preliminary assessment of waste accumulation along riverbanks in Italy, aiming to provide baseline data for future monitoring and management efforts. The study surveyed 18 stations along 16 rivers across different regions of Italy, from north to south, to quantify and characterise the types and abundance of litter present along their banks. Field surveys were conducted by Legambiente citizen scientists applying a standardised protocol to record and categorise litter items systematically.

: In recent years, family involvement in ICU patient care has become increasingly significant. Family involvement in delirium management, while desirable, can be difficult for loved ones. Therefore, every attempt should be made and interventions developed to promote and support the family in this process.

is an important foodborne pathogen that can cause a range of illnesses in humans; it has also been a key focus for monitoring in the field of public health, including gastroenteritis, sepsis, and arthritis, and can also cause a decline in egg production in poultry and diarrhea and abortion in livestock, leading to death in severe cases, resulting in huge economic losses. This study aimed to investigate the isolation rate, antimicrobial resistance, serotypes, and genetic diversity of isolated from yak feces in various regions on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. A total of 1222 samples of yak dung were collected from major cities in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau area, and the sensitivity of the isolated bacteria to 10 major classes of antibiotics was determined using the K-B paper disk diffusion method for drug susceptibility.

Background: Preliminary data suggests that the burden of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is high in Tanzania. After efforts to improve ACS care, we sought to describe ACS diagnosis rates, care processes, and outcomes in a Tanzanian Emergency Department (ED).
Methods: Adults presenting to a northern Tanzanian ED with acute chest pain or shortness of breath were enrolled from November 2020 to January 2023.
