The majority of patients with advanced esophageal or gastric cancer do not start palliative systemic treatment. To gain insight into the considerations underlying the decision not to start systemic treatment, we analyzed characteristics of patients starting and not starting systemic treatment, reasons for not starting systemic treatment, and receipt of local palliative treatments on a nationwide scale. Patients diagnosed with advanced esophageal or gastric cancer between 2015 and 2021 were included (n = 10,948).

Isolated ophthalmoplegia as an anti-glutamic acid decarboxylase 65 (anti-GAD65) antibody-associated neurological syndrome is rare. We present a case of a 22-year-old pregnant Hispanic female patient who presented initially with a left oculomotor nerve palsy following an emergency department (ED) visit for migraine headache. Brain imaging was done with no important findings.

Background: Among people with cystic fibrosis (PwCF), methicillin-resistant (MRSA)-associated acute pulmonary exacerbations (APEs) have been increasing in prevalence and can cause rapid declines in lung function and increased mortality. Fortunately, since 2019, incidence has started to decline.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate if doxycycline has comparable efficacy to vancomycin for the treatment of APEs in PwCF.
