Proteinase 3 (PR3) anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA) and anti-double-stranded DNA (anti-dsDNA) antibodies have been associated with a variety of nephritic diseases, most recognizably granulomatosis with polyangiitis and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) glomerulonephritis, respectively. We report the first clinical case of positive PR3 and dsDNA in a patient with renal Immunoglobin light chain (AL) amyloidosis. A 75-year-old man presented to the hospital with chronic fatigue, weight loss, and a recent diagnosis of left ventricular infiltrative cardiomyopathy secondary to AL amyloidosis. Autoimmune serology was significant for PR3-ANCA and anti-dsDNA antibodies. A renal biopsy confirmed AL amyloidosis with diffuse Congo red stain. This case report is the first of its kind, showing atypical antibody presentation in the setting of amyloidosis.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease whose pathogenesis is not fully understood to date. One of the suggested mechanisms for its development is NETosis, which involves the release of a specific network consisting of chromatin, proteins, and enzymes from neutrophils, stimulating the immune system. One of its markers is citrullinated histone H3 (H3Cit).

Background Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune disease associated with increased cardiovascular risk, partly due to dyslipidemia. This study aimed to evaluate the lipid profiles of Saudi Arabian patients with SLE and examine the impact of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) and steroid use on these profiles, with a particular focus on patients with lupus nephritis. Methods A retrospective observational study was conducted at King Saud Medical City, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, including SLE patients treated at the hospital's rheumatology clinic between July 2023 and December 2023.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a diffuse, systemic autoimmune disorder that can impact multiple organs and systems, with patients exhibiting abnormal levels of various autoantibodies and immune markers in their serum. It is currently understood that dysregulation of B cells activation plays a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of SLE, as aberrantly activated B cells produce autoantibodies that inflict damage on multiple organs through complement activation and antibody-dependent cell-mediated cyto-toxicity. Traditional therapies for SLE may prove ineffective for certain patients or lead to adverse reactions.

We reported the diagnostic and therapeutic process of a young male patient with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) who presented with severe hyponatremia as the main manifestation upon admission, and analyzed and discussed the case. The patient was a 19-year-old young male with a subacute course of disease, fever ≥38.3 ℃ that could not be explained by other causes, acute and subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus, oral ulcers, arthritis, leukopenia (< 4×10/L), low C3+low C4, and positive anti-double-stranded DNA (anti-dsDNA).

Objective: To stratify systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients clinically, to analyze the clinical characteristics of patients with and without disease activity, and to explore the application va-lue of key clinical indicators in assessing disease activity, as well as to construct an evaluation model.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on clinical data of the SLE patients diagnosed at Peking University People' s Hospital from May 1995 to April 2014. Demographic information, clinical manifestations, laboratory tests, and antibody detection results were collected.
