Unveiling gene co-expression networks in bacterial pathogens has the potential for gaining insights into their adaptive strategies within the host environment. Here, we developed Co-PATHOgenex, an interactive and user-friendly web application that enables users to construct networks from gene co-expressions using custom-defined thresholds (https://avicanlab.shinyapps.io/copathogenex/). The incorporated search functions and visualizations within the tool simplify the usage and facilitate the interpretation of the analysis output. Co-PATHOgenex also includes stress stimulons for various bacterial species, which can help identify gene products not previously associated with a particular stress condition.

Introduction: Drug-mediated inhibition of bile salt efflux transporters may cause liver injury. In vitro prediction of drug effects toward canalicular and/or sinusoidal efflux of bile salts from human hepatocytes is therefore a major issue, which can be addressed using liver cell-based assays.
Area Covered: This review, based on a thorough literature search in the scientific databases PubMed and Web of Science, provides key information about hepatic transporters implicated in bile salt efflux, the human liver cell models available for investigating functional inhibition of bile salt efflux, the different methodologies used for this purpose, and the modes of expression of the results.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of non-pharmacological interventions in improving chemotherapy induced delayed nausea and vomiting symptoms using a network meta-analysis.
Methods: Four Chinese databases (CNKI, Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform, VIP, Sinomed) and five English databases (PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, Web of Science, CINAHL) were searched from the establishment of the database to April 2024. A Bayesian network meta-analysis was performed on the response rate to the improvement of chemotherapy induced delayed nausea and vomiting, as well as improvement in KPS score, under different non-pharmacological interventions by using R 4.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Liver fibrosis, which is a precursor to cirrhosis in chronic liver diseases, is driven by various factors. The activation and proliferation of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) are recognized as a crucial phase in the progression of liver fibrosis. Compared with western drug therapy, Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and herbal medicine not only have the advantages of multi-target and multi-pathways in the treatment of liver fibrosis, but also have high safety without toxic side effects.

Summary: In this article, we present tagtango, an innovative R package and web application designed for robust and intuitive comparison of single-cell clusters and annotations. It offers an interactive platform that simplifies the exploration of differences and similarities among different clustering and annotation methods. Leveraging single-cell data analysis and different visualizations, it allows researchers to dissect the underlying biological differences across groups.

Objective: Motivational interviewing (MI) is a client centered counseling approach which aims to promote behavior change by enhancing patient motivation through the exploration and resolution of ambivalence. This type of psychotherapy, initially designed for the treatment of substance use disorders (SUD), is now seen as an effective way to manage chronic physical and psychiatric diseases. Patients with Dual Diagnosis (DD), people who simultaneously have a SUD diagnosis and a mental illness, are a complex group of psychiatric patients who have a particularly low treatment engagement.
