Background: Laparoscopic approaches and robot-assisted operations are used for colorectal cancer surgery because of their minimal invasiveness. 1 However, changes in intra-abdominal pressure during laparoscopy can lead to cardiovascular complications in compromised patients; 2 obesity and intraabdominal adhesions may further interfere with laparoscopic procedures. Small bowel obstruction is one of the most common urgent surgical conditions, caused by a variety of factors, with adhesions, malignancies, and hernias, internal and external, being the most common. Many types of internal hernias have been described in the literature; however, internal hernia caused by the ureter as a secondary complication of ureteroplasty is rare and only a few cases have been reported worldwide. This presentation discusses an interesting case of small bowel obstruction accompanied by obstruction of the urinary tract due to an internal hernia caused by the ureter.

According to classical immunology theory, the tissues and organs mentioned above are not thought to produce immunoglobulins (Igs), and any Ig present in the relevant tissues under physiological and pathological conditions is believed to be derived from B cells.
