In the acidic medium, hydrosulfuryl(-SH) in cysteine hydrochloride can reduce Fe3+ to Fe2+, then Fe2+ react with potassium ferricyanide to form KFe[Fe(CN)6](soluble Prussian blue). Prussian blue has a maximum absorption at 727 nm, Bill's law is observed between mass concentration of cysteine hydrochloride and absorbance of Prussian blue, the content of cysteine hydrochloride is indirectly determinated by measuring the absorbance of Prussian blue. An accurate, simple, fast spectrophotometric method for the determination of cysteine hydrochloride content by ferric chloride-potassium ferricyanide has been established. The optimal determination conditions of cysteine hydrochloride content are explored. The cysteine hydrochloride content is determinate by this method.

Wound healing is a highly coordinated process driven by intricate molecular signaling and dynamic interactions between diverse cell types. Nod-like receptor pyrin domain-containing protein 3 (NLRP3) has been implicated in the regulation of inflammation and tissue repair; however, its specific role in skin wound healing remains unclear. This study highlights the pivotal role of NLRP3 in effective skin wound healing, as demonstrated by delayed wound closure and altered cellular and molecular responses in NLRP3-deficient (NLRP3) mice.

The thiol-ene reaction between an alkene and a thiol can be exploited for selective labelling of cysteine residues in protein profiling applications. Here, we explore thiol-ene activation in systems from chemical models to complex cellular milieus, using UV, visible wavelength and redox initiators. Initial studies in chemical models required an oxygen-free environment for efficient coupling and showed very poor activation when using a redox initiator.

Myofibrillar myopathy (MFM) is characterized by segmental disarray of myofibrils and ectopic accumulation of a protein called desmin. Previously thought to be a glycogen storage disease, MFM is now recognized as a stand-alone myopathy.
