Arrays of coupled nanoelectromechanical resonators are a promising foundation for implementing large-scale network applications, such as mechanical-based information processing and computing, but their practical realization remains an outstanding challenge. In this work, we demonstrate a scalable platform of suspended graphene resonators, such that neighboring resonators are persistently coupled mechanically. We provide evidence of strong coupling between neighboring resonators using two different tuning methods. Additionally, we provide evidence of inter-resonator coupling of higher-order modes, demonstrating the rich dynamics that can be accessed with this platform. Our results establish this platform as a viable option for realizing large-scale programmable networks, enabling applications such as phononic circuits, tunable waveguides, and reconfigurable metamaterials.

Flexible, wearable, piezoresistive sensors have significant potential for applications in wearable electronics and electronic skin fields due to their simple structure and durability. Highly sensitive, flexible, piezoresistive sensors with the ability to monitor laryngeal articulatory vibration supply a new, more comfortable and versatile way to aid communication for people with speech disorders. Here, we present a piezoresistive sensor with a novel microstructure that combines insulating and conductive properties.

Atomically thin van der Waals (vdW) films provide a material platform for the epitaxial growth of quantum heterostructures. However, unlike the remote epitaxial growth of three-dimensional bulk crystals, the growth of two-dimensional material heterostructures across atomic layers has been limited due to the weak vdW interaction. Here we report the double-sided epitaxy of vdW layered materials through atomic membranes.

Optical responses of twisted bilayer graphene at targeted wavelengths can be amplified by leveraging energy levels of van Hove singularities (VHS) via tuning periods of moiré superlattices. Therefore, precise control of twist angles as well as the moiré superlattices is necessary for fabricating integrated optoelectronic devices such as photodetectors and emitters. Although recent advances in twist angle control help the observation of correlated states in twisted magic-angle graphene structures, the impact of such precise control on enhanced optical absorption is still under investigation.

The g-C3N4/CS biosensor was designed, fabricated, and tested using compounds such as glucose, urine, lactose, and flutamide at a molarity of 10 µM, which could demonstrate a high sensitivity of 200 μm-1 for flutamide. Powerful effective medium theory and FDTD simulation were used to predict the most favorable mode and plasmonic properties of a graphite carbon nitride and chitosan nanocomposite. The research also explores the characteristics of surface plasmon resonance exhibited by the nanocomposite as the chitosan content is adjusted.

Understanding the interactions between molecules and sensing elements is crucial to improving sensors. We present one step toward getting closer to the breach between theory and empirical sensor development. Through density functional theory (DFT) calculations, we explored the changes in some optical properties of pristine graphene (G), graphene oxide (GO), and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) interacting with one molecule of acetaminophen (APAP).
