The integration of physical movements, such as gestures, into learning holds potential for enhancing foreign language (L2) education. Uncovering whether actively performing gestures during L2 learning is more, or equally, effective compared to simply observing such movements is central to deepening our understanding of the efficacy of movement-based learning strategies. Here, we present a meta-analysis of seven studies containing 309 participants that compares the effects of gesture self-enactment and observation on L2 vocabulary learning. The results showed that gesture observation was just as effective for L2 learning as gesture enactment, based on free recall, cued L2 recognition, and cued native language recognition performance, with a large dispersion of true effect across studies. Gesture observation may be sufficient for inducing embodied L2 learning benefits, in support of theories positing shared mechanisms underlying enactment and observation. Future studies should examine the effects of gesture-based learning over longer time periods with larger sample sizes and more diverse word classes.

Background: Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) populations are underrepresented in Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD) research, despite being the fastest growing racial group in the United States. The Collaborative Approach for AANHPI Research and Education (CARE) registry aims to create a sustainable research recruitment source to address this need.
Method: Participants can enroll online, by phone, or in-person by completing an enrollment survey in English, Chinese (Simplified/Traditional), Hindi, Korean, Samoan, or Vietnamese.

Background: Given the context of globalization, epidemiological and health disparities create socio-cultural barriers to specialized and appropriate care for people living with dementia in non-Western countries, particularly in Spain, where Moroccan migrants maintain their position as the largest registered foreign community. We aimed to map cultural, clinical, and linguistic challenges and facilitators of dementia assessment and care for this population.
Methods: We investigated articles published in English, Spanish, and Arabic in different medical, allied health, social, and human sciences databases that addressed assessment and care for Moroccan migrants with dementia (MMWD) and their caregivers in Spain.

Purpose: The present study aimed to compare the impacts of different exercise types on cardiovascular health and executive function in sedentary young individuals, and to determine the associations between cardiovascular function and executive function (EF) after exercise.
Methods: Sixty-three sedentary participants were randomly divided into high-intensity interval training (HIIT), moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT), resistance exercise (RE), and control groups. Macro- and microvascular endothelial function were assessed using brachial artery flow-mediated dilation and fingertip reactive hyperemia index, respectively.
Trials were inconsistent while reporting findings on the benefits of the intermittent regimen. Recent conclusive evidence to show overall effect was limited. This review compared intermittent and daily iron folic acid supplementation (IFAS) on pregnancy outcomes.
