Not every Rathke's cleft cyst (RCC) is confined within the sella between the posterior and anterior lobes of the pituitary gland. Intracranial ectopic RCCs are extremely rare, with only seven cases reported in the literature. In this study, the authors presented a rare case of a symptomatic ectopic retrosellar RCC posterior to the pituitary gland, causing extensive clival erosion. The surgical nuances of the wide marsupialization of the cyst through intraoperative ultrasound-assisted endoscopic endonasal transclival approach are described, and a systematic literature review of intracranial ectopic RCCs is conducted.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine whether ultrasound guidance can reduce the duration, blood loss volume and invasiveness of surgery for internal fixator removal.
Methods: The clinical data from 35 adults patients who underwent ultrasound-guided surgical removal of internal fixators after complete healing of limb fractures between June 2019 and April 2023 were retrospectively analysed and compared with those from 34 controls who underwent the procedure without ultrasound guidance. Data concerning the patients' demographic and clinical characteristics and surgical sites were collected.

Objective: To assess safety and efficacy of minimally invasive evacuation of Spontaneous Supratentorial Intracerebral Hemorrhage (SSICH) by means of tailored minicraniotomies and intraoperative ultrasound (iUS) assistance.
Methods: Retrospective analysis of 55 patients who underwent microsurgical evacuation of SSICH using minicraniotomy and iUS assistance, between January 2015 and January 2022. Surgical complications, mortality rate, recurrent bleeding, percentage of hematoma evacuation and reliability of iUS were collected and investigated.

Detailed anamnesis and systematic physical examination are often relevant in the diagnostic routine of acute appendicitis. However, physicians are increasingly motivated to obtain radiological approval. Inherent limitations due to radiologists' experience and the presenting anatomy may result in contradictory outcomes between the described and intraoperative findings.
