The association between coronary physiological progression and clinical outcomes has not been investigated. A total of 421 patients who underwent serial coronary angiography at least 6 months apart were included. Total physiological atherosclerotic burden was characterized by sum of quantitative flow ratio in 3 epicardial vessels (3V-QFR). The relationships of the 3V-QFR and its longitudinal change (△3V-QFR) with major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) were explored. 3V-QFR values derived from follow-up angiograms were slightly lower compared with baseline (2.85 [2.77, 2.90] vs 2.86 [2.80, 2.90], < .001). The median △3V-QFR value was -0.01 (-0.05, 0.02). The multivariable models demonstrated that follow-up 3V-QFR and △3V-QFR were independently associated with MACE (both < .05). Patients with both low follow-up 3V-QFR (≤2.78) and low △3V-QFR (≤-0.05) presented 3 times higher risk of MACE than those without (hazard ratio: 2.953, 95% confidence interval 1.428-6.104, = .003). Furthermore, adding patient-level 3V-QFR and △3V-QFR to clinical model significantly improved the predictability for MACE. In conclusion, total physiological atherosclerotic burden and its progression can provide incremental prognostic value over clinical characteristics, supporting the use of coronary physiology in the evaluation of disease progression and for the identification of vulnerable patients.

This study investigates the protective effects of resveratrol (RSV) against heat stress (HS)-induced testicular injury in rats. Climate change has exacerbated heat stress, particularly affecting male fertility by impairing testicular function and sexual behavior. A total of 32 rats were allocated into four experimental groups: control, RSV control, HS control, and RSV + HS.

Unlabelled: Studies have suggested that phytochemicals in green tea have systemic anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective effects. However, the mechanisms behind these effects are poorly understood, possibly due to the differential metabolism of phytochemicals resulting from variations in gut microbiome composition. To unravel this complex relationship, our team utilized a novel combined microbiome analysis and metabolomics approach applied to low complexity microbiome (LCM) and human colonized (HU) gnotobiotic mice treated with an acute dose of powdered matcha green tea.

The Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (CRP), is the aged peel of Citrus fruit, which contains phenols, flavonoids, and polysaccharides. This study aims to investigate dietary CRP supplementation on the growth performance, serum biochemical indices, meat quality, intestinal morphology, microbiota, and metabolite of yellow-feathered broilers. A total of 240 yellow-feathered broilers (1.

Ca is a key nutrient for fruit quality due to its role in bonding with pectin in the cell wall, providing strength through cell-to-cell adhesion, thus increasing fruit firmness and extending post-harvest life. However, Ca accumulation is mostly limited to the initial stages of fruit development due to anatomical and physiological changes that occur as fruits develop. The objective of this study was to evaluate fruit transpiration, cuticle thickness, and pedicel vessel changes during cranberry fruit development and the effect these parameters might have on Ca translocation.

Background: In recent years, cognitive impairment has emerged as a pivotal symptom in elderly patients with depression, exerting a substantial impact on the course and prognosis of diseases. Moreover, it persists even following remission from depression during the rehabilitation period. However, there remains an incomplete understanding of the relevant influencing factors for cognitive impairment in elderly depressed patients, which seriously impedes the development of risk prediction models and the subsequent research on precision intervention programs.
