Hemangioblastoma is a rare tumor of vascular origin, most commonly located in the posterior fossa, which presents with severe symptoms and usually very hard to resect without remarkable operative blood loss. Pre-operative embolization may decrease the amount of intra-operative bleeding, but the endovascular treatment of such tumor may be very challenging due to the high risk of infarction of the surrounding tissues. Direct puncture embolization has been developed to overcome many of the limitations of endovascular techniques for many hypervascular lesions, also hemangioblastomas. We present in this Technical Video (video 1) a direct puncture embolization with balloon-protection of a hemangioblastoma of the medulla oblongata using Onyx 18 (Medtronic, inc.) as sole liquid embolic agent.

Background: Totally implantable venous central access devices (TIVADs) can be implanted by open surgery or by direct puncture in the subclavian (ScV), internal jugular (IJV) or cephalic (CephV) veins.

Methods: A retrospective study was conducted in 201 patients. Thirty-day follow-up data was analyzed to compare the outcomes of different techniques and evaluation of risk factors.

To explore techniques, advantages and disadvantages of 3D Slicer reconstruction and 3D printing localization technology combined with transcranial neuroendoscopy in ventriculoperitoneal shunt surgery. Retrospective analysis of clinical data of patients with hydrocephalus treated by ventriculoperitoneal shunt surgery using 3D Slicer reconstruction and 3D printing positioning technology combined with transcranial neuroendoscopy in our hospital from October 2021 to March 2023. A total of 33 patients with complete data were collected, including 19 males and 14 females, aged 10-81 years.

Objectives: Vascular access thrombosis (VAT) is a common complication in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD), significantly impacting hemodialysis efficacy and patient survival. Currently, temporary dialysis access is typically established deep vein catheterization (VC), however, this method is highly invasive and associated with risks of infection and other complications. This study aims to explore the feasibility of using direct anastomosis indwelling needle puncture (DAINP) for temporary dialysis access.

Introduction: The megalencephaly capillary malformation polymicrogyria (MCAP syndrome) results from mosaic gain-of-function variants. The main clinical features are macrocephaly, somatic overgrowth, neurodevelopmental delay and brain anomalies. Alpelisib (Vijoice) is a recently FDA-approved PI3Kα-specific inhibitor for patients with PIK3CA-related overgrowth spectrum (PROS).
