The adoption of pultruded glass fibre-reinforced polymer (pGFRP) composites as a substitute for traditional wooden cross-arms in high transmission towers represents a relatively novel approach. These materials were selected for their high strength-to-weight ratio and lightweight properties. Despite various studies focusing on structures improvement, there still have a significant gap in understanding the deformation characteristics of full-scale cross-arms under actual operational loads.

Objective: Аim: To determine the characteristics of family resilience to the consequences of war psychotrauma.

Patients And Methods: Materials and Methods: The experimental group included 23 young families (46 people, average age 28,20 ± 1,33 years) forcibly resettled from the zone of active hostilities; the control group consisted of 25 young families (50 people, average age 28,16 ±1,72 years) from Kyiv, who did not change their place of residence and did not witness active hostilities. Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the impact of neurodevelopmental disorders (NF1, TSC, FXS, and NS) on brain volume, particularly focusing on global and subcortical structures, to understand disease mechanisms.
  • A meta-analysis of 23 studies involving 1,556 subjects revealed that NF1 and FXS are associated with larger brain volumes, while NS shows smaller brain volumes.
  • Notably, TSC showed no significant differences in brain volume compared to typical controls, with no moderating effects from age, sex, or IQ observed across studies.

This case study describes findings from an exercise conducted in April 2023 to assess the readiness of the National Quarantine Unit (NQU) and identify opportunities for improvement. The exercise is part of a multiyear effort to assess the readiness of quarantine and transport capabilities at the NQU through annual workshops, discussion-based exercises, and functional and full-scale exercises. The April 2023 exercise tested interagency coordination and decisionmaking, transport of individuals for monitoring, quarantine unit operations, and escalation of care for symptomatic individuals out of quarantine to high-level isolation units in the United States.

Changing natural organic matter quality from anthropogenic activity and stricter requirements for micropollutant removal challenges existing systems for drinking water production. Ozonation of water followed by biofiltration, such as passage through a slow sand filter (SSF), is a partial solution. Biofiltration relies on biofilms (microbial communities within extracellular matrices).
