This study investigates the effects of two blended learning strategies on improving tacking technique in Optimist sailing among children aged 11-13. Specifically, it compares video feedback with online written instructions (BLIV) and online written instructions only (BLI). Thirty-one children aged 11-13 years old were randomly divided into three groups with different learning strategies: BLIV, BLI, and a control group (CONT).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFListening is understood to be a foundational element in practices that rely on effective conversations, but there is a gap in our understanding of what the effects of high-quality listening are on both the speaker and listener. This registered report addressed this gap by training one group of participants to listen well as speakers discuss their character strengths, allowing us to isolate the role relational listening plays in strengths-based conversations. Participants were paired and randomly assigned to a high-quality listening (experimental) or moderate-quality listening (comparison) condition manipulated through a validated video-based training.

Introduction: Medical students find translating lessons from traditional lectures to caring for trauma patients challenging. We assess whether adding video-based virtual flashcards and videos of augmented reality-based trauma patients in an online learning environment improves performance.
Methods: We performed a between-subject experimental study.
