Time-resolved radioluminescence (TRRL) properties of the Cu(I) cluster CuI upon pulsed X-ray, β-ray or α-particle excitation are described. The longer (>2 μs) TRRL component displays exponential decay comparable to pulsed UV excitation; however, temporal behaviour at shorter times indicates that high local excited state density provides an alternative decay channel.

Narrow band green emitting phosphors have gained widespread attention due to their application in white light emitting diode (wLED) backlight displays. Commercial backlight displays have a broad band green phosphor which limits their performance. In this work, bright, narrow and thermally stable green emitting MgGaO:Mn (MGO-Mn) has been synthesized.

Two-dimensional (2D) hybrid organic-inorganic perovskite (HOIP) crystals show promise as scintillating materials for wide-energy radiation detection, outperforming their three-dimensional counterparts. In this study, we synthesized single crystals of (PEABZA)PbBr ( ranging from 0.1 to 2), utilizing phenethylammonium (CHCHCHNH) and benzylammonium (CHCHNH) cations.

X-ray imaging scintillators play a crucial role in medical examinations and safety inspections, making them an essential technology in our modern lives. However, commercially available high-performance scintillators are fabricated exclusively from ceramic materials that require harsh preparation conditions and are costly to produce. Organic scintillators have emerged as a promising alternative due to their transparency and ease of fabrication at a low cost.

Phase-sensitive radioluminescence and photoluminescence features in Tm-doped yttrium tantalates for cyan and white light generation.

Laboratório de Materiais Luminescentes Micro e Nanoestruturados - Mater Lumen, Departamento de Química, FFCLRP, Universidade de São Paulo, SP, Brazil.

Radioluminescence and visible photoluminescence tunability features from a single Tm-doped yttrium tantalate phosphor prepared by a soft sol-gel method designed to afford cubic YTaO and monoclinic M'-YTaO crystalline phases are reported. The annealing temperature influenced the crystallization kinetics and stabilized a preferential phase. To investigate how the crystalline phase affected the Tm optical properties, excitation and emission spectra in the visible range were recorded for the samples annealed at 900 or 1100 °C.
