Undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma (UPS) is a highly malignant mesenchymal tumor that ranks as one of the most common types of soft tissue sarcoma. Even though chemotherapy increases the 5-year survival rate in UPS, high tumor heterogeneity frequently leads to chemotherapy resistance and consequently to recurrences. In this study, we characterized the cell composition and the transcriptional profile of UPS with resistance to chemotherapy at the single cell resolution.

This case report delves into the intricate diagnostic journey of a 42-year-old male presenting with jaundice, abdominal distension, and ascites, where medical imaging, including CT scans and ultrasound, played a central role. Noteworthy radiological findings, such as irregular nodular margins and caudate lobe hypertrophy, illuminated the distinctive pathophysiology of cryptogenic cirrhosis. The study underscores the pivotal role of medical imaging in elucidating complex liver pathologies, emphasizing the relevance of radiological approaches in diagnosing cryptogenic cirrhosis and guiding comprehensive management strategies.

Malignant rhabdoid tumor of the liver is a rare, highly aggressive primary hepatic malignancy occurring primarily in infants. Establishing a definitive diagnosis is challenging due to its rarity, non-specific clinicoradiologic findings, and overlapping morphologic features. Herein, we present the cytomorphologic and immunocytochemical characteristics of a rare case of primary hepatic Malignant rhabdoid tumor (MRT) in an infant.

Objective: Due to the small proportion of target pixels in computed tomography (CT) images and the high similarity with the environment, convolutional neural network-based semantic segmentation models are difficult to develop by using deep learning. Extracting feature information often leads to under- or oversegmentation of lesions in CT images. In this paper, an improved convolutional neural network segmentation model known as RAD-UNet, which is based on the U-Net encoder-decoder architecture, is proposed and applied to lung nodular segmentation in CT images.
