Bacterial diseases alone or in combination with other pathogens lead to significant economic losses in poultry globally including India. One of these diseases is avian colibacillosis which is caused by avian pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC). The present study sought to isolate and characterize using in vivo and in vitro assays E.

Avian pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC) is a principal etiologic agent of avian colibacillosis, responsible for significant economic losses in the poultry industry due to high mortality and disease treatment with antibiotics. APEC and its ability to form biofilms on food and processing surfaces contributes to its persistence within farms. Bacteriophages are promising antibacterial agents for combating APEC.

Avian pathogen Escherichia coli (APEC) poses a significant threat to poultry farming, causing colibacillosis in various hosts, including chickens, ducks, geese, and pigeons. This study aimed to investigate the molecular epidemiology of APEC in Jiangxi Province, China, to inform prevention and control strategies. Between 2020 and 2024, 186 APEC strains were isolated and identified, with 88.

The poultry industry relies extensively on antibiotics and coccidiostats as essential tools for disease management and productivity enhancement. However, increasing concerns about antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and the toxicological safety of these substances have prompted a deeper examination of their broader impacts on animal and human health. This study investigates the toxicological effects of antibiotics and coccidiostats on the gut-brain axis and microbiota in turkeys, with a particular focus on molecular mechanisms that may influence neurochemical and inflammatory responses.
