Identifying processes that promote coral reef recovery and resilience is crucial as ocean warming becomes more frequent and severe. Sexual reproduction is essential for the replenishment of coral populations and maintenance of genetic diversity; however, the ability for corals to reproduce may be impaired by marine heatwaves that cause coral bleaching. In 2014 and 2015, the Hawaiian Islands experienced coral bleaching with differential bleaching susceptibility in the species Montipora capitata, a dominant reef-building coral in the region.

In the face of anthropogenic warming, drought poses an escalating threat to food production. C plants offer promise in addressing this threat. C leaves operate a biochemical CO concentrating mechanism that exchanges metabolites between two partially isolated compartments (mesophyll and bundle sheath), which confers high-productivity potential in hot climates boosting water use efficiency.

Exploring the response of leaf anatomical structure to climate warming is helpful for understanding the adaptive mechanisms of trees to climate change. We conducted a warming experiment by transplanting seedlings of from 11 provenances to two common gardens, and examined the response of leaf anatomical structure to climate warming. The results showed that warming significantly increased leaf thickness (T), upper epidermal mesophyll thickness (T), lower epidermal mesophyll thickness (T), endodermal thickness (T), vascular bundle diameter (D), transfer tissue thickness (T), and the percentage of mesophyll thickness to T(P), and significantly decreased the upper epidermal thickness (T) and the percentage of epidermal thickness to T (P).

Introduction: Hypothermia in the neonatal surgical population has been linked with significant morbidity and mortality. Our goal was to decrease intra and postoperative hypothermia.
Intervention: In November 2021, a radiant warmer and hat were included along with standard warming methods prior to the start of General Surgery procedures to minimize episodes of hypothermia.

Background: According to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, surgical site infections (SSIs) constitute over 50% of all hospital-acquired infections. Reducing SSIs can enhance healthcare efficiency.
Objective: This study explores the cost consequences of implementing an SSI prevention bundle (SPB) in total hip and knee arthroplasty (THKA).
