The first total synthesis of calanthoside (), which exhibits potent proliferative activity against human hair follicle dermal papilla cells, has been achieved in seven steps with an overall yield of 43% on a gram scale starting from anthranilic acid (). The synthetic strategy features a one-pot process involving thioglucoside bond formation via nucleophilic substitution reaction and enol-glucosylation for building the -,-bisdesmoside structure of . Moreover, the one-pot reaction showed broad substrate adaptability to several sugar donors other than d-glucose, thus affording ,-bisglycoside intermediates in ∼84% yield.

The substantia nigra pars compacta (SNc), one of the main dopaminergic nuclei of the brain, exerts a regulatory function on the basal ganglia circuitry via the nigro-striatal pathway but its possible dopaminergic innervation of the thalamus has been only investigated in non-human primates. The impossibility of tract-tracing studies in humans has boosted advanced MRI techniques and multi-shell high-angular resolution diffusion MRI (MS-HARDI) has promised to shed more light on the structural connectivity of subcortical structures. Here, we estimated the possible dopaminergic innervation of the human thalamus via an MS-HARDI tractography of the SNc in healthy human young adults.

This study aims to determine and compare the reference values of the haematological and biochemical blood parameters of two fish species collected from the Gökova Bay (Muğla, South-Western of Türkiye): the non-native and invasive Randall's threadfin bream, and the native Common pandora, . Both species inhabit the same environment and compete for resources. Blood samples were collected from a total of 100 fish samples (50 and 50 ) which were caught from a depth of 30 to 60 meters between February 2023 and July 2024.
