Over the last five decades, diimine rhenium(I) tricarbonyl complexes have been extensively investigated due to their remarkable and widely tuned photophysical properties. These systems are regarded as attractive targets for design functional luminescent materials and performing fundamental studies of photoinduced processes in transition metal complexes. This review summarizes the latest developments concerning Re(I) tricarbonyl complexes bearing donor-acceptor (D-A) and donor-π-acceptor (D-π-A) ligands.

In the manipulation of π-conjugated organic polymer, strategic alterations to the polymerization cascade facilitate the integration of donor (D) and acceptor (A) entities within the polymer's backbone. Such control is instrumental in broadening the photoresponse spectrum, enhancing photoinduced charge separation, and augmenting the efficiency of charge transfer processes. The oxygen-containing amino group (-ONH) was innovatively grafted into the polymerization process of the triazine-heptazine ring skeleton, and the -ONH was used as a capping agent to change the chain bonding in the polymerization process, thus a new intramolecular D-A structure was successfully constructed.

Frontier Science Center for Synthetic Biology (Ministry of Education), Key Laboratory of Systems Bioengineering, and School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Tianjin University, Tianjin 300350, China; College of Life and Health Sciences, Northeastern University, Shenyang 110169, China. Electronic address:

Ralstonia eutropha H16, a facultative chemolithoautotrophic Gram-negative bacterium, demonstrates remarkable metabolic flexibility by utilizing either diverse organic substrates or CO as the sole carbon source, with H serving as the electron donor under aerobic conditions. The capacity of carbon and energy metabolism of R. eutropha H16 enabled development of synthetic biology technologies and strategies to engineer its metabolism for biosynthesis of value-added chemicals.

Background: The use of donor kidneys with acute kidney injury (AKI) aims to expand the organ pool, but uncertainty remains regarding their outcomes across different Kidney Donor Profile Index (KDPI) groups and preservation methods.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 108 160 deceased donor kidney transplants from the OPTN database, focusing on adult recipients of kidneys from donors with or without AKI between December 2014 and December 2022. Propensity matching was used for each KDPI group (1-20, 21-59, 60-84, and 85-100), comparing donors with AKIN stages 0-1 to AKIN stages 2-3.

Human milk extracellular vesicles (EVs) are crucial mother-to-baby messengers that transfer biological signals. These EVs are reported to survive digestion and transport across the intestine. The mechanisms of interaction between human milk EVs and the intestinal mucosa, including epithelial uptake remain unclear.
