We developed the theory of elastic electron tunneling through a potential barrier driven by a strong high-frequency electromagnetic field. It is demonstrated that the driven barrier can be considered as a stationary two-barrier potential which contains the quasi-stationary electron states confined between these two barriers. When the energy of an incident electron coincides with the energy of the quasi-stationary state, the driven barrier becomes fully transparent for the electron (the resonant tunneling). The developed theory is applied to describe electron transport through a quantum point contact irradiated by an electromagnetic wave.

Purpose: To clarify the femoral tunnel location for a virtual anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) graft to simulate the native ACL.
Methods: Three-dimensional (3D) computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) were obtained in 14 normal knees in full extension. Two types of virtual triple bundle ACL grafts (VACLG) were created.

Spin and valley polarizations (P and P) and tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) are demonstrated in the ferromagnetic/barrier/normal/barrier/ferromagnetic WSe junction, with the gate voltage and off-resonant circularly polarized light (CPL) applied to the two barrier regions. The minimum incident energy of non-zero spin- and valley-resolved conductance has been derived, which is consistent with numerical calculations and depends on the electric potential U, CPL intensity ΔΩ, exchange field h, and magnetization configuration: parallel (P) or antiparallel (AP). For the P (AP) configuration, the energy region with P = -1 or P = 1 is wider (narrower) and increases with ΔΩ.

Objectives: Septic arthritis after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction is a rare but potentially devastating complication. The imaging findings associated with such infections are not well-described or quantified. The purpose of this study was to describe and quantify the frequency of the characteristic MRI findings of infection following ACL reconstruction.

We report spin-polarized scanning tunneling microscopy measurements of an Anderson impurity system in MoS_{2} mirror-twin boundaries, where both the quantum-confined impurity state and the Kondo resonance resulting from the interaction with the substrate are accessible. Using a spin-polarized tip, we observe magnetic-field-induced changes in the peak heights of the Anderson impurity states as well as in the magnetic-field-split Kondo resonance. Quantitative comparison with numerical renormalization group calculations provides evidence of the notable spin polarization of the spin-resolved impurity spectral function under the influence of a magnetic field.
