Rapid multiplex molecular syndromic panels (RMMSP) (3 or more pathogens and time-to-results < 6 h) allow simultaneous detection of multiple pathogens and genotypic resistance markers. Their implementation has revolutionized the clinical landscape by significantly enhancing diagnostic accuracy and reducing time-to-results in different critical conditions. The current revision is a comprehensive but not systematic review of the literature.

Objectives: Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a zoonotic pathogen that poses a serious threat to veterinary and public health worldwide. We investigated mastitis milk samples for contamination with MRSA and also characterized the MRSA isolates by investigating antimicrobial resistance and virulence factors.
Result: We confirmed MRSA in 69 of 201 (34.

Background: The impact of community carriage on the influx of extended-spectrum beta-lactamase-producing Enterobacterales (ESBL-E) into hospitals remains understudied. In this prospective 2-year single-centre study, we investigate the community ESBL-E influx and trace the colonisation, nosocomial acquisition, transmission, and infection dynamics of ESBL-producing Escherichia coli (ESBL-Ec) in non-ICU wards at a tertiary care hospital.
Methods: This study reports primary and post hoc outcomes of the clinical trial NCT01208519 in which hospitalised patients were screened for rectal carriage of ESBL-E.

Aims: The unstable antimicrobial activity of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) under physiological conditions (especially the degradation instigated proteases) seems to be a persistent impediment for their successful implementation in clinical trials. Consequently, our objective was to devise AMP engineering frameworks that could sustain robust antibacterial efficacy within physiological environments.
Methods: In this work, we harvested AMPs with stable antimicrobial activity under the physiological barriers through the combination of idealized amphiphiles and trypsin inhibitors.
