Importance: Reducing the burden of stroke is a public health priority. While higher stroke incidence among ethnic minority populations (defined in the context of this study as individuals who are not White) is well established, reports on ethnic inequalities in care or outcomes are conflicting and often limited to hospital-admitted patients and short-term outcomes.
Objective: To investigate ethnic differences in stroke care and outcomes up to 5 years after stroke and describe temporal trends and contributory factors.
Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) has been mainly thought of as a disease involving gray matter changes. However, despite known correlations between white matter integrity and cognition, less is known about how disruptions to white matter during the development of AD underpin cognitive impairment. This study tests the associations between disruptions to white matter along the AD clinical continuum (cognitive unimpaired (CU): cognitive impaired (CI) - Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) and AD) and cognition using diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) and multi-tissue neurite and orientation dispersion and density imaging (mtNODDI) models of the multi-shell connectome diffusion MRI (ms-dMRI) data from the Alzheimer's Disease Connectome Project (ADCP).

Background: Despite the increasing number of people with dementia, it remains underdetected worldwide, even in high-income countries. In Brazil, the number of people with dementia is expected to triple by 2050 and diagnosis can be challenging, contributing to high and growing rates of underdiagnosis. At the moment, there is no national estimate of undetected dementia.
